I suppose GH might put recruitment for 2012 on hold until any decisions are made about B McD and Lowes. Will players still want to join the Rhinos if there is uncertainty over the future of the coaches and do McDermott and Lowes have any say in recruitment? By delaying any signings it means like last year the quality of players availabke is reduced.

I don't count beds! As good as he is he has come well past his best.

I do count Buderus as a big signing He might have been slightly past his peak but still a great player with loads of experience/quality that he can pass on to the team. He adds to the team unlike the other recent signings we know about. Future signings should be of the same standard as Buderus and Peacock before him and add value to the team.

Who do you think Leeds could realistically bring in of that caliber?

I don't know which NRL players of a marquee standard would come over to SL. They would probably be either young and then go back to Australia after 2/3 contract or slightly past their best but previously an international or SOO standard. The increase in NRL salary cap will not help. I think we need a quality centre and back up at half-back. Matt Cooper has been mentioned but probably only paper talk. I think the Chase rumours will not happen unfortunately. I have faith in GH but was let down last year!

Can't see any big signings this year either. More sub standard dross probably, we can only hope they are better than the two we have this year. We need to move a fair few players and I can't see the quality being available out there

the problem is what lies beneath that first X7. With Lauititi, Leuluai, Hauraki & Senior headed for the door we need some serious bruise behind it. The squad is paper-thin and needs backup that isn't Webb, Kirke, Pitts, Ambler & Amor. This is particularly the case in the halves, where Burrow has no competition. Rangi Chase would be an awesome signing given the potential Mags/Burrow, Mags/Chase and Chase/Burrow combinations. If we were going to all-out replace Burrow then Dobson would be my shout.

Eastwood was a big signing - current NZ international and all that. Certainly higher pedigree than most current overseas forwards in SL.

If it was a signing for 2007, only player I can think of who would be classified as a 'big signing' that joined for that season is Brent Webb. But surely he was signed way before that?

Eastwood was was not a big name when we signed him. Defo on his way up but Most had not heard of him over here. He was one of those kids who could not command the wage his talent demanded. so England was an option. The year at the bulldogs changed that and he and everyone else realised it.

Hope Not? Do you know anything about this kid Andy? The lad is superb, the fact he is not in the Cas first team is down to needing that older head in Orr to direct the team.

He would be a very good signing for any club.

I don't like what I've heard off the field, which suggests his attitude and those of some of the people around him need a significant adjustment. He's apparently being released by Cas at the end of the season due to travel problems (still lives in the Leigh area IIRC) and is looking for somewhere closer to home with both Salford and Warrington being mentioned.

If Leeds are that set on recruiting a young half back, makes you wonder why they didn't put up that much of a fight when Cas took Zak Snellgrove from right off the doorstep at Milford.
