Indeed, having 7 out of the last 10 at home could really be a big help, just as having all those away games at the start was a bit of a Hindrance

We need our home record to be better than so far though - 3 wins from 7 doesn't exactly scream Fortress Headingley.

For all the activity I don't think we are particularly better off this week, Lui has to click with Myler behind the same pack directed by a hooker who plays off the cuff...…..On a more positive note, providing Watkins does not get injured playing out of position against a large physical pack, the wage bill will be down on Monday.

KR winning was a real blow. We could have done with them losing and then a win on Saturday would have required them to win two games more than us in the last 9 games.

We've run out of time hoping for KR/London to just give up - if anything they're fighting harder than ever - and we don't have time to wait for any new players to gel. Whilst a 2/4 point gap might not sound like much, over 9/10 games even that may take some doing given that we still lack quality in too many areas (quite incredible really given we've signed 9 players and given debuts to two juniors this year).

For a few weeks at least the future is still in our hands. If we can win on Sunday and put some kind of run together we'll be safe but we simply have to start winning soon.

HKR were creating multiple threats on attack last night, running lines with the halves creating a bit of space & taking on the line when needed. All we seem to is shift the ball and then we’re left with someone facing two and three defenders in front of them. I want to see some improvement on Sunday.
You could also see McGuire marshalling the team well.
Still plenty of points to play for but it’s squeaky bum time.

Have to give London and KR huge credit. London especially I thought (hoped) would fade back end of the season but both really seem to have stepped up these last few weeks. It's become perfectly clear that we're not going to get away with being handed safety by there simply being a team who are even worse than us. If we want to stay up we're going to have to step up and make it happen ourselves. I'm feeling really nervous about this run in now. Huge, huge game on Sunday.

if wakey aren't careful they're going to be dragged into this mess with Huddersfield , so potentially there are 5 teams in the relegation battle. but have to agree we need to win 90% of our home game and beat London away for having a chance of staying up

Lose to Catalans and it becomes that bit harder to see where we might pick up 3? More wins. I think there's every chance of going down tbh.

we've got Catalans to play twice hull KR, Huddersfield and London we need to be beating the teams around us and then picking up any more wins

With four of five teams in the mix, I understand why Leeds and Agar are saying it’s in our own hands but I’ve seen nothing this season to make me think we’re capable of that.
We need a bit of luck with some lack of form/injuries in the sides around us IMO.
Keep saying it but if we do go down the club will 100% have deserved it. Way too many slack decisions on recruitment for far too long has bitten the bum.
Not sure what shape Leeds would be in if we did go down. I mean, nobody’s dying but would imagine we’d lose some key players, have vultures circling all our young talent, lose loads of revenue and have brown pants over paying for the shiny stadium for starters.
Also could be an awful task trying to get back up again.
I’m guessing the SL would relax the entry rules/expand the number of clubs but...

Its very much at hetheringtons door. This has been building for a while and Hetherington is fully to blame for recruitment over the past 3 years. He got very very complacent.

Just hope we've room for one more to come in this season..

I think like most leaders, GH's time has come and now gone.
KS has made some errors, and the coaching appointment might be a critical one, but the oil tanker was already set for the rocks well before he arrived.
If you want to blame someone, it has to be GH who has been the common denominator throughout an abject effort at managing the transition away from the Golden Generation - which we had literally years to get right.
Instead we've been screwed by arrogance and a penny-pinching attitude to the most important investment area of the business, the players.

IT's hard to say with this: it would have to be someone of real quality to make a difference and breed confidence in this side. Can we afford that this year? Who is available?
Aidan Sezer would fit the bill if some kind of deal could be struck to the end of the season, for me.
Our pack still needs some surgery but we are getting enough field position every game to win games if we can apply pressure and create opportunities in good ball.
So it would be bringing in another half to partner Lui as the priority for me.

Is it really that simple? I wonder how long it would take a new half back combo to gel, get used to the team around them etc and fire on all cylinders? Baring in mind there are 10 games left of the season. Better players don`t instantly make you a better team.

I’m hoping they are working on this behind the scenes, but they’ve left it very late and there aren’t more than a handful of players in the word game who are practically within reach and good enough. Tough one.
