I thought it was odd when they came up with by a brick scheme for when the NORTHstand get developed,and everyone thought the Southstand rebuild was imminant.I wonder how many takers they have got for the buy a brick scheme.Can you imagine it come and buy a brick and nominate a relative to be informed when its finally in place.

Seriously though it looked great yeasterday, now that it's fully open again and with it's new Tetley's paintwork.

I wasn't keen on the new branding. I know that's what it is but to me it looked like they'd just pulled it out of storage from the 90s and stuck it on. Does it say "Southstand" in the middle?

If it does, I didn't register it.
It has the old 90's oval logo repeated all the way along. A bit retro maybe but I quite like it.

And tetleys is now brewed in the same building as Newcastle brown ale. 2 minutes from my house

Tetleys cask is now brewed under licence by Marstons at Wolverhampton. If they brewed it in Tadcaster they wouldn't have dropped 'brewed in Yorkshire' from all their POS when they rebranded.

Thats what someone I know told me when they gave him his pension from the labs at Tetleys last summer, however the bald one has close links with John Smiths so if he said its being brewed in Tad then its being brewed in Tad, wouldn't surprise me at all given that mass brewing is nothing at all to do with the beer these days.

i work at sam smiths but its next door. i say work, i just turn up.

to be fair sams used to bottle and cask for federation brewery. it was brewed in the north east, brought down in tankers, and bottled and put into casks at sams. same thing could happen with tetleys

According to this month's Spring edition of the CAMRA magazine pithily entitled "Beer", Tetley's Cask Ale is brewed at Banks's (Bonks's?) Brewery in Wolverhampton. Tetley's Smoothflow (aka utter p*ss) is brewed at Molson Coors' Tadcaster Chemical Factory & Tetley's keg Dark Mild, Mild & Imperial are brewed by Cameron's at Hartlepool.
So arguably you're both right.
I'll stick to Leeds Brewery's Midnight Bell, thank you very much.

Anyone else find that Tetley's Smooth gives them a chronic headache? It can give me a banging head before I have finished the first pint. Must be one of the chemicals not agreeing with me.

Yes I know their flagship pub is called by that name ,but the book i'm talking about is about pubs and drinkers in the 20s ,and I think that is where they got the namr from
