| I doubt he will do anything for SAlford, but I could be wrong, teams that he has coached have played dull boring rugby and watching wales is like watching paint dry, one up rugby with a last tackle kick"............time will tell but Salford can't buy success it's more embedded. I team that succeeds like LEeds have done over the last ten years is built on local talent and a will to work for each other, signing players like Tim smith, hock and rangi chase are there for the money and no more. It's a recipe for disaster.

| Strange choice Judas Harris has no real record as a coach, He could be a good coach but this may take time, but will the good doctor give him time.

| I think that Harris will eventually have a very successful career as a coach.
I'd be happy to see him back at Leeds in that capacity but can't ever see it happening.
I find all the "Judas" comments pathetic.

Suits the very insular thought process of your average RL fan though.

| I have a hunch that Harris will turn out to be a very good coach.
I don't see this move working out, for two reasons:
1) I think it might well be too soon to go into what will be a high-profile, high-pressure head coach's appointment. I see shades of Daryl Powell, who I always thought we chucked in at the deep end too early and I think it damaged his career. He's back in SL now and showing every sign that he'll have a really successful career. I hope we see him back at Headingley one day.
2) I also suspect (hunches, but that's all we have really) that Dr Koukhash will be the type of chairman/owner who has an itchy trigger finger and over-blown expectations. Whether Noble is a top coach or not is almost an irrelevant debate, it's hard to imagine him having done a lot more with what he has to work with at Salford. It will take time and patience to turn them into a top team. If Dr Koukhash has no patience, coaches will get no time. His removal of Noble and his constant "aaarrggh, too slow, I need to buy success NOOOOOOOWWW!!!" exclamations are not the hallmarks of a patient man.

| There are some players that you just kind of know from how they read the game when they're playing and how they conduct themselves off the field will be outstanding coaches. Sinfield is one, Edwards is another and so is Harris.
Whether he'll be an outstanding coach at Salford is another matter.

| Watching noble on TV yesterday expressing his shock at being removed from his post after the victory at hull, one would think that if the financial package offered to him in his new post was not adequate ,our friends from the legal profession may well become involved .
With reference to Harris , I think he will be a successful coach,he is obviously an intelligent man. Will he get time at salford to build the team that's the big question . Certainly the good doctors behaviour so far is becoming more and more irrational .
It will be interesting to see how Wigan perform without Harris .
Whilst on the subject of coaches,i wonder what the reaction on this board and the clubs will be if we don't win any silverware this season.

Regarding point 1) He as served is time as a assistant coach at both Crusaders(plus one season as head coach) and Wigan learning his trade, so it is nothing like when Daryl got the Leeds gig.
2) This will probably be his downfall.
However I do think that Harris will turn out to be a top coach, just not at Salford

| I can't see Koukash lasting long in the game. He will leave Salford and leave them in a mess I reckon.
I called it right at the start that Noble was the wrong man. I don't rate him one bit, but in this case its Koukash that is lacking the knowledge. Koukash however obviously thought Noble was the man, if he really believed Noble was his man he should have given him longer, much longer. Everyone in the game knows he cannot buy success and will have to be in it for the long haul and persevere. Sadly he doesn't. He wants success and wants it now. Everyone knows in RL it really does not work like that. Following his twitter account is a good laugh. I dont think he can be any more unprofessional, its like a 5 year old playing football manager. How much homework has he done on his latest movements? Months (like GH would) , weeks, days, hours? Probably the latter.

He has the potential. But it's a gamble for him.He could only last a few months at Salford, get the boot and his stock will drop a fair bit on the back of that.
Remember,It took Powell a Decade to get another go in SL despite continued success at the lower levels.

Agreed. You'd have to be mad to take that job. The money must be enough to compensate that. Harris at Wigan was onto a winner. Wane is always linked to the NRL, only this week has he been linked to the NZ Warriors for 2015. Lenegan then has a history of appointing from within. He could of had the Wigan job soon enough.

Judas, in the biblical story, betrayed his friend to his death. Iestyn Harris agreed a transfer to another sport that netted the club an enormous amount of money.
He then went somewhere other than Leeds when he returned to Leeds, which netted Leeds another large wedge of cash for a player we no longer needed.

| The comments about Harris and Judas relate to the fact if I can remember he slagged off Leeds after he left the club to play Union. Secondly he slagged off Leeds when they stated in 2004 that he should go back to Leeds. Finally when he went to Northern he stated he was going to a bigger club.
While we are talking about lines from the Bible, just something to think about in the gospel of Judas which is a interesting book, it is claimed Judas was the head of Jesus followers and he was told to betray Jesus to the Romans. So is Judas a bad name!!

| As fans we should be very wary of Koukash and what message he is now sending out.
We are in real danger of seeing a football type scenario of ' Ive bought the club, Ive pumped money in, I want success and I want it now (or all my toys will come flying out)'
Chopping and change managers/coaches rarely brings quick success. That comes with stability, planning and patience - just ask GH!

| Iestyn Harris! Now there's a name that'll always have a whiff to it. That rich aroma of Welshness, greed, and a cavalier attitude to honouring contracts. Surely not the sort you would really want to see back at Headingley?
Let him try his luck at Warrington.....or perhaps the Welsh RFC might be a tad more forgiving. Will I smile when the good Doctor shows him the door? Nah, Karma can be a bitch.

| I have reservations about Harris hacking it as a coach, mainly because of his tendency to move from one project to another quite quickly. These moves may or may not be brought about by financial considerations but from the perspective of building a career path, some of his choices seem rather odd. An earlier poster likened him to Darryl Powell; for my money he's more similar to Brian Noble - except that he's unlikely to inherit an all-conquering team that will make his name and keep him in the game in the same way.

| Harris has succeeded Noble before at Crusaders. Did Harris improve them?
The Dr is seeming to be demanded results, it doesn't quite work like that.
