| Of course it's possible that the club might operate under its own salary cap rather than the one imposed by the RFL.
- a bit like wigan are alleged to do, except that our figure is actually lower than that set by the RFL.

OK how was he supposed to word it that changed it into an obligation?
Obtuse to say the least - I personally think Leeds will be nowhere near the cap for the next two seasons - hopefully this will exert more pressure on youth development and scouting. Nothing like finding and developing youth to get quality real cheap ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

GH would have made an amazing politician. The less intelligent fans like Batley believed he was making a commitment to spend to the cap. If/When he doesn't he can say he made no such commitment.

Did you really guffaw? It's not a spelling issue, it's little fat sausage fingers.
I tell you what, I will make you a commitment to proof reading my posts in future. It's a commitment you can rely upon.

£250,000 is a significant chunk alone to that building project. It will more than get them over the interest and capital on initial outlays until the stand starts earning again.'"
With those players leaving plus others on reduced contracts and the bonus of a cup final at Wembley, Gary H has plenty of money available for strengthening the team. However so far for definite he's signed Richard Moore and strong rumours about Griffin. I don't think either will be on big contracts. Rumours on replacing Buderus include Seu Seu whose a reserve at Manly and now Fisher from Hull KR. Again I would think only on average contracts. The latest name to replace Senior in the centres is Nick Emmett from the St George Dragons who has not played in the first team at all this season! GH must be optimistic if he thinks these names will have supporters queuing for season tickets and getting us back to the top of super league.
Also these players will not take up all the spare money upto the salary cap. If GH is going to spend upto the cap he must be planing a marquee signing. It will not be Chase as he's under contract. Any other possibilities?

| Not particulary blown away with the centre and two hookers mentioned above. Griffin would be ok. But after watching Moore not overly happy with his defence.

fee involved for Lynch though as still under contract whereas Moore was free. A no brainer in the world of GH.

Frosties, have you any idea which players will be joining us for the 2012 season (as well as Moore and Griffin)? GH keeps his cards very close to his chest!

Now this is a strange one? The dragons have dureau, they have bosc, they have signed pryce but the word in Aus is that Todd carney is going to the dragons? To get out of the lime light.
Surley a team in the salary cap era can't afford to have 4 marquee halfbacks.

Add Greenshields, Sa, Farrar, Menzies to the bill. And with a weak Euro too, meaning their money shouldn't get to go as far.
If they have to offload to get Carney we could do worse than look at Farrar for centre or Sa as an offloading backrow who can cover centre or six. Certainly better than some of the options in this thread.

Maybe. I also just had a look around and see that Farrar is going back to Manly, so maybe forget my original post.
However, I'm not sure what to think about the whole visa issue. IIRC at the time Eastwood, Bird, Carney and others had visa issues it was reported to be down to a change in policy due to one woman in the embassy in Canberra. Who knows if that's still the case.

| Greg McNally released by Giants. I know we had him down on a weeks trial and were keen prior to him signing for Hudds. Is it worth a punt or should we steer well clear?
