Simply not good enough, just 7 points from 16. It's ok saying these games are not must win, or it is a long season, but we need an upturn in performance and results or we are already out of contention. We can't just count it like we have in the past, there are too many sides playing at a level above us.

We need Garbutt back, we don't have any power in the middle at the start of games. Singleton and Cuthbertson don't give us that, we came back into it when Peteru and Mullally came on, and went to 5hit again when they went off, and Walters came on.

Start poor ,plod through the first 25 minutes start trying , gain momentum take the lead then implode.

We do miss Garbutt but Mullally imo offers nothing nor do i see what blame can laid on Walters for that mate.
Mullally & Ferres offer nothing ,Jjb Ablett & Cuthbo are past their best/play too many minutes & Moon goes missing for too long in games.
There's a lot of potential in that u19's pack but they'll need 2/3 hardened quality fwds to help intergrate them.
We are a better team when Parcell & Myler link so leaving the former on the bebch beggers belief.

Apart from the two dropped balls he then had a good game, was one of our better players, the backs are not really the problem, it's the lacklustre pack that's letting us down.

Think he was more upset than he let on and was keeping cards close to his chest, think he knows we have a lot of work today, it's not panic stations yet, but we need big improvements and some players need it laying on the line and dropped completely

Brilliant Myler, Ward and Parcell. The rest an absolute shower of ***** as they say. For 20 mins very good, for 60 minutes Wire were in a different league to us.

Last year we won a lot of tight games as many teams including wire were pretty poor. This year others are better and our limitations are being exposed more. We can only play in short bursts

Those three were ok but I reckon brilliant's pushing it. As a whole we continue to show zero instinct for how to control a game. Myler's kicking for touch into the 20 would be an ok tactic if we didn't concede 60+ metres in the ensuing set. Might as well stick a high one across the park and hope for the best otherwise.

My thoughts:

Starting the game with no hooker is moronic. We only started to get any go forward when Parcell came on, by that point we were 11 points down.

Ferres has yet to have a good game for us. He’s a pale shadow of the player he once was.

We’re carrying too much dross in the pack. I’d look to offload at least Walters and Ferres and bring in some quality. We need Garbutt back urgently.

Myler had a very good game again and didn’t deserve to be on a losing side. His half back partner is very poor though.

Is Dwyer injured?

Perhaps, but those three were a million miles above their team mates, which highlighted to me how much better they were. Myler management can’t be blamed on how poor his team mates are. His stand off partner is terrible, with no idea at all how to manage a game. Kicking the high one is exactly why we struggle to contain.

Not blaming Myler at all, more alluding to him playing behind a beaten pack. Our defending at the ruck is woeful and Parcell's not blameless here for all his good play going forward. Far from the only culprit though.

Parcells defence was brilliant last night. Unlike the many missed tackles of the likes of Ablett, Handley, and Moon, who were not alone in the defensive stakes.

Not sure about Parcell being that good - I think his shortcomings are now being exposed as teams have worked him out - agree re. the rest just a really bad night.

Moon should never be playing 6 it simply doesn't work.

Looking at the stats now, they would beg to differ. Second top tackler behind the brilliant Ward, and only the one missed tackle unlike many of his team mates. His attacking play might not be quite last season, but his defence is not lacking.

It was his attack I was talking about - seems to has lost sharpness and accuracy perhaps the opposition aren't giving him the time they did last year
