Shenton is a good prospect but, if we are going for a prospect why not stick with Watkins?

Webster isnt all that great, on a big wage at HKR he is big and fast and strong but thats about it, doesnt use his winger, poor defensive positioning and struggles to defend against even a little agility, has been displaced by Welham who is a decent youngsters but no great shakes, good winger though

Atkins has had one great season and has been average the rest of the time, looks good in a midtable side, would be a scapegoat for a quality side

Whaturia is a very very good player, really like him, good defensively, good speed and very creative and uses his winger well, experienced but not too old, perfect for what we need right now would love to see him in a rhinos shirt,

i'd give Watkins an extended run, i think he's good enough.

If not Kirk Yeamam from Hull?? nobody has mentioned him??

How can Atkins look good in a midtable side, then not look the same if not better when around better players????

Does he not already defend against the likes of Gidley, Glesson, Bell etc??? Does he not score quite a few tries already??? He does all this, as you say in a midtable side. Would he not get better defensive players helping him do the same playing for a better team? Would he not get more try scoring chances playing for a better team??

Webster's defence has been excellent so far this year.

It could be the case of big fish in a little pond (no disrespect to Wakey) like Danny Orr when he left Cas to go to wigan (again no disrespect to Cas).

i go to Wakey games by train from York and usually see his Ma and Pa on the train from Leeds station and we have a few chats and i can definately say he was a Bradford fan but is very loyal to Wakey and JK now

His defense is good. He hits very hard.

On those Whatuira is by far the best. However I think Leeds for the time being would be better off giving Watkins or Gibson a run in the centre. The contastant "rotation" of Gibson/Watkins and Ablett is not helping their development.

Lot of time for Darrell Goulding, if he can get a consistent injury free run he'll make a good SL centre for someone. Face (or more accurately, passport) doesn't seem to fit at Wigan for some reason.

i would say it is helping them, but not necessarily the team. Watkins in particular will have benefitted hugely from the games he has played.

Gibson it could be argued needs more game time though, as he is at a more advanced stage of his career then Watkins

He's to small, exactly the same reason why Ashley Gibson cant seem to make an impact.

Listen to them all talking sense, Shenny has no experience, overrated at Cas and gets creamed by Atkins every time



We're quite happy with this cluless centre so plan to keep him

Although I do agree that we need to sign someone else. How about any of these from Penrith Panthers might get them on the cheap seen as they are making room for their big new signing Terry Campese. Keith Peters, Matthew Bell, Maurice Blair, Junior Moors, Joel Romelo and Andrew Emelio, anyone take your fancy?

I say beat Penrith to the punch and get Campese for ourselves. Then there is Karmichael Hunt who still hasn't signed a new deal with anyone yet, a natural Full Back who can take up the centres no problem...
