If it was a "red top" reporter I'd agree with you! But I've been reading the Guardian for years and have time for Andy Wilson. On transfers he's usually spot on and I think was the first to report Eastwood and Delaney signings. If correct the signing still needs to be completed. I agree with others when he says the signing would play fullback when Hardaker is doing really well and better than at centre. It might be a 2 year contract and then Hardaker takesover. If corrrect, like others, I'm intrigued as to who the mystery player is and is AW right when he says Leeds fans will be "very chuffed" with the signing!

| I get what people are saying about fullback and not needing to recruit, with hardaker and BJB etc.
Leeds play though, relies quite heavily on having a 'gun' player in that position. Someone who inserts themselves into the play normally in the second or 3rd line of attack and plays like a halfback.
Webbs been doing it for years and always has alot of input into many tries we score.
Hardaker and BJB aren't those sort of players.

Maybe it's time we changed the way we played then, as we are in an obvious transition it is time we started making changes in the way we play and the type of personal we recruit, as at the moment it isn't working.

| Unless we are signing Billy slater then full back is the last place we require recruitment.

That area of our game isn't especially where we are going wrong.
In 2006 when mathers went to gold coast titans we signed webb for the 2007 season. I'm sure at the time people were saying we didn't need a fullback as we had smith and tansey who were coming through in that position.

| ....and don't forget most, if not all, on here stated we didn't need Buderus as we already had a more than capable incumbent.
I agree out of choice we should be looking to replace Hardaker at LC.....the lad is doing a much better job at FB and is showing why he played there for Featherstone.

I agree and Buderus's signing is a good comparison. Most people thought it was a bad signing but three years later didn't want him to leave! Of course it all depends on who this mystery player is and I don't suppose it will be at Danny's level.

If he isn't then we [ishouldn't[/i sign him.
Hardaker is damn fine FB it would appear (he saved what should have been a certain try with his one on one tackling ability last night that Webb would have surely conceded through his pathetic 'one on one' by comparison) .....to replace him with another that is no better would be wrong. | Given the collected wisdom is that Hardaker isn't a centre, if you sign a full-back where do you play him?

I'd have him as a roaming winger like pryce for bradford in 2005.

I meant it woud be unlikely the new player would be an ex-captain of Aus. Like you I would want the signing to be quality, experienced and better than we currently have. Someone like Brett Stewart who is OOC?

I'd just have him on the wing instead of BJB. I'm not convinced by BJB personally.

| I think Hardaker is more than capable of playing centre and becoming a very good one he's still a kid learning.
What i personally would like to see is the call been made asap if it hasn't already and getting players in their intended positions.
Also i still think it's time Keinhorst ,Chisolm, Singleton ,D,Smith and Watson got some 1st team games at SL level.
I don't expect anything to change next week other than Kylie and jjb to come in for Kirke and Clarkson but after that i think the younger lads deserve a chance.

I've made the same comments elsewhere....on attack BJB has shown his bravery in squeezing in for some great tries. However, his defence is never quite so convincing.
With Hall inside and Hardaker on maybe the right wing, it could open up the possibility of Chisholm being given a possible opportunity on the other (left) wing ??

| BJB is still pretty poor at fielding kicks and is too weak to take the ball up! It baffles me why Leeds pass the ball to BJB from dummy half in our own 20 metres, he is far too small to drive it up.
I don't think a winger is urgent but if one became available of a good standard such as Tom Briscoe then definitely. I think BJB outside Watkins is good, because he has the speed to finish chances created from Watkins ability.

Rhinos have been linked with David Williams the Manly winger. This most recent rumour is that we are after a quality player from NRL who would play fullback. If this happens, where does Hardaker play, back to centre or on the wing?

A great return after his injury. However according to Andy Wilson on twitter we're chasing a fullback! I hope GH does not fall between the two targets.

They sound like ade gardner specials them.
Did he chuck the ball away while arrogantly looking in the opposite direction as well?

| No. He comes across as a nice guy whenever I've seen him interviewed. He's one of those players made into a 'personality' by the media - in his case purely on the basis of having a beard.

There can't be alot of cap space left with you having talents like Kirke, Moore & Griffin on the books.
