I can see a case for a loan Prop/Centre/Halfback, we’re desperately short, some of our own making and some just bad luck.

Interesting. Hardaker would be a good move imo. That would sort our centre and FB position nicely. Appreciate he's a chequered past.

If we did bag Hardaker until the end of the season (I'd take him on a shorter loan too), then that would release us to play Broadbent at Centre this week and Sutcliffe at Halfback meaning we don't have anyone throwing crisp packets around in the first 20 minutes of what is a critical game.

I wouldn't usually go for a past player like hardaker, and he is clearly still an idiot, but it might be a good short term move. Unless he'd disrupt the dressing room.

I don't understand not naming 21 unless someone comes in at the last minute? They might not be ready (or in some cases way off the standard), but we do have a reserve team.

Maybe there's mileage in the Hardaker on short term loan rumour?

This is an elite sporting club and inability to name a 21 man squad is really poor.

If we named a 21 man squad and then brought a player on loan, he wouldn’t be available unless we swapped a player out, which would mean losing an interchange in the game.

I think there have been previous examples of teams naming an initial squad that was a player short pending the possible registration of a new signing (loan or otherwise). Leeds could easily have named an academy player or even an injured player (I've seen that happen a lot in the Championship) so it's more likely to be a deliberate choice pending a possible signing. If you ask to make a change to a 21-man squad after it's been named I think you lose an interchange.
