| Ultimately the spine was the difference. They missed Bennett a lot, but basically looked like they played the whole game with one half and no support from fullback. Compare that to Saints who had 3 or four genuine ball handlers.
Beevers is quality though. I can’t help but think she’s wasted a bit in the centre.

| It wasn't a classic and was some major lapses in Leeds defence that led to Saints running in those 3 back to back trys that killed the game.
Just shows how much damage you can cause with mistakes especially in a cup final.
Lets hope we can shake that off and get back into the groove for the end of the season run in.

Yeah I was thinking that about Beevers. She was the Leeds player likely to make an impact but criminally under-used, especially when chasing the game. I would have moved her to stand off and had her involved in every attacking set going.
Saints were excellent though.

I like Beevers at fullback. Admittedly I don’t know if there was a reason she was moved from there originally.

| Danielle Anderson has done her ACL again apparently so lucky that Emma Lumley has returned to the club.
Ruby Enright is out injured just hope it’s not her knee again. She is going to be a great player for the club.

Leeds Rhinos Golden Point Win Over Saints To Set Up Grand Final Rematch Against YorkLeeds Rhinos made their way across the Pennines looking for their fourth consecutive Women’s Super League Grand Final appearance as they looked to defend their title but they knew that they had a monumental challenge in their way as they took on a St Helens side who finished a place above them at the end of the regular season. A Grand Final place against the York Valkyrie at the LNER Community Stadium on the 8th of October was up for grabs and the Rhinos were slight favourites after they won the round nine encounter three weeks ago by 34-22 while the sought further revenge for the defeat to Saints in the Challenge Cup Final. Saints had never beaten the Rhinos at the Totally Wicked Stadium but were confident that today would be the day. READ MORE ON THIS STORY...

| So many good performances but I thought Casey, Murray & Sykes off the bench were unreal.

| Should be a good final. Keys are probably controlling kick returns from Stanley and coping with their size off the bench.

| Leeds have had very little from the ref this afternoon.
Having said that going for the 2 was the wrong decision and the lack of a proper second halfback has hurt Leeds massively.

York Valkyrie Crowned Womens Super League ChampionsIn a repeat of last season’s Women’s Super League Grand Final the York Valkyrie faced the Leeds Rhinos hoping for a better outcome than the 12-4 defeat which they suffered for a heartbreaking end to their 2022 season. York have dominated this season’s league competition, having gone the entire season unbeaten with just a single league draw to blemish their copybook, and that draw was against the Leeds Rhinos when the sides met and scored twelve points each in mid-July. The bookies went with home advantage and gave the Valkyrie the best chance to win the game and secure their first ever title. READ MORE ON THIS STORY...

| Agree there, going for the 2 was a bad call, they'd built some nice pressure and had plenty of time on the clock.

Agree.
Go for the 6 and rattle York.
Bad errors by us out of character from Beevers and York I reckon deserved it in the end.

| I live in York and went to the game today.
Really enjoyed it tbf. Great crowd and atmosphere.
York were just better organised and stronger defensively. Deserved the win.
Hopefully York continue to invest in RL and the men's team can keep pushing to get in SL.
My old man went to watch York for 50 years and took me in the 80's when they were in the top division.

Couldn’t agree more. York a prime candidate for what I would call ‘targeted expansion’ a place that offers more than your typical ‘heartland’ team, but also isn’t a million miles away and has a semblance of grass roots on which to draw.

| I wanted to go to a York/Leeds WSL game last year and couldn't in the end, I do enjoy the women's game to be honest they hit hard but there is less over-the-top aggression. Must get to a match next year.
Have to say that rugby stadia are really mixed on transport, if I go to Headingley it's a drive really and about 40 mins each way, it's a pig to park. Hull was a dream, massive on-site car park. York has a decent car park but seems confusing on match days...
