Speaking of Arnie, did you see the bit in QI last week when they were talking about dubbing Terminator (I think) into German?

As a spoof it covers a lot of bases: action films/heros/dodgy villans/oddjob was in it, wasn't he as a butler??/cartoon cats/ET/New York V LA etc etc. Surely the biggest juxtaposition was casting Arnie as the main man.

Watched "I am Legend" last night.

Thought it was rubbish. Might have been a bit better if they'd have made the monsters real people instead of the worst CGI I've seen in years

It has to be. I saw the Simpsons parody of it years ago and thought it would make a great film but I was very dissapointed!

I've seen it and I would share your opinion. Great concept for a film, but the result is disappointing. I even dragged my fat to the cinema to see it, my only consolation was that it was an Orange Wednesday special so it was a cheapy. Dodgy end to the film also.

Yes. The book is far better, mind you so is Fear and loathing in Las Vegas and Starship Troopers and.... and......
seems to be true of most book to film efforts.

The live action Thunderbirds movie was a massive own-goal. It could have been great, but instead they didn't let Gerry Anderson anywhere near it and gave it to the beared bloke off Star Trek Next Generation to turn it in to something akin to Spy Kids meets one long product placement for Ford.

The Avengers moive was one long endless pile of unwatchable poop. One of the few films I have sat down to watch and never got more than half way through it without switching off and shaking my head.

I even though Quantum Of Solace was vaslt overhyped compared to Casino Royale, with unfathomable action sequences and the bit where M gets shot, but she doesn't.

There remaking "It" to be released next year. It will be a made-for-tv film like last time round but will be 4 hours long and will be all directly from the book unlike the last one. I loved "It" the film and t me up when I was a kid but when I read the book alot of it was different!

There is but one rule of film-making - you cannot re-make a film better than the original if the original was made in an era of greater creativity.

It sounds like it could make me puke from my anus. I've got IT on doovde. When I bought it I hadn't seen it and was quite high, I was with my mate in HMV and he said it's good and couldn't believe I hadn't seen it, so I bought it. It's 2 doovdes. So I stuck the first one on and watched it and it finished when that guy kills himself in the bath (Is his name Stan?). Well I thought that's how it ended and turned it off. Thought it was really bad. Didn't know it continued on the second disc did I? Thought the other disc was just extras and all that junk. Two years later I finished the film. TRUE STORY.

The books alot better than the film. Did freak me out when I watched it when it was first on tv around 91-92 I think but saw it about a year ago and didn't think much of it but if there making it like the book it should be good!
