Where Brett Stewart ends up could be interesting. Obviously the supposedly big RU offers have disappeared and according to the press 2 SL clubs are interested. I would think it's likely that the Rhinos are one of them. The Ausi press say he wants to get out of Sydney because of that court case a few years ago. We have space under the cap but whether we could meet his demands is questionable. He also wants a 4 year deal which GH might not want. As they say watch this space!

Unlike a lot of rumours at least it was not made up and if he got Eastwood transfer right well you never know! The important bit is how reliable is his contact. I hope it's accurate because he would be a great signing.

Greg bird isnt coming. If he isnt on the gold coast in 2013 he will be at the newcastle knights or back at cronulla. Would be an awesome signing tho. Moltzen imho isnt better than what we already have at the rhinos. I think david williams would be a good addition though,after that need to find more grunt in the forwards from somewhere...SBW would be nice

According to Andy Wilson of the Guardian on twitter we are signing a big name NRL Back who will "excite"us! We have been linked with David Williams but is he a big name? Moltzen has signed a new 3 year contract with Wests. Any other possibilities?

An update from twitter on that Andy Wilson story of a player Leeds are trying to sign but he can't yet disclose name. In response to some twitter questions he said the player would play fullback and he can't disclose because he does not want to put pressure on negotiations. He acknowledged that at this stage it's only a rumour but if it comes off all Rhinos fans will be "chuffed"! Any thoughts, Brett Stewart?

Brett stewart would be a great signing for a couple of years then let hardacker take over the no1 shirt. Could michael jennings be the mystery player? Or mabye jack reed?

If we're just plucking names out of thin air, how about seeing if we can tempt Mark Gasnier out of retirement.
I'm also in the mindset of leaving Zak at fullback - he looks dangerous every kick return, and his defense is decent and will get better. A big house prop (Russell Packer please) and a classy centre would be perfect.

Don't ruin it for rhino2009 - he'll want to know what the possibilities are of Slater coming, what Hetherington will be thinking about it, and why he's tired of Melbourne, and how reliable the source is. Afterall, Slaters name has now been mentioned, so there must be some truth in it
