Its a shame that form teams do come in for stick. We all know about correct times to peak in form. Saint's form at the mo is thrilling. As a saint's fan it feels really good now but time will tell on just how the stamina can prevail until when form really matters.

I just watched a re run of last GF sad man i am. But the comments from Eddie, Stevo and Clarke were that Leeds had been lucky and that Saints should have won. Strange that this happened two years in a row cannot just be luck. Everything the lot from the DSS stadium do is wonderfullin the eyes of the Sky lot, just as it use to be when Wigan won everything in the early 90's. They never seem to mention the rule bending that goes on by Saints.

Yes at the moment Saints are very good but have they peaked to early, the bussiness end of the season is September, October. I remember 2006 we unbelieveable at the start of the year at the end were terrible.

What I seem to remember from last years grand final was that they had done all there rehearsals and after match talking to be all set for Saints to win it. Seemed like they didn't have a clue what to say when Leeds won!

Same all her family are too. They suddenly came alive the other week when they beat us, but for some reason things have gone very very quiet lately. I tried to mention the Warrington game but they didnt want to speak about it!

Over the last 4 years it can't really be argued that Saints haven't played the best rugby. They have come top of the league 4 times, and won the challenge cup 3 times in that time, with a SL win and WCC win in there as well.

Does that make them a better team? Maybe. Will that be remembered in 20 years time? nope. Leeds won the titles in 2007 & 2008. And will go down in history as the champions. Doesn't mean we are the best though in my book.

Tbh I can't remember who finished top of the league 10 years ago, can remember the grand final winners though!

Bet Saints are wishing we hadn't come along to be as good as we are as they would have cleaned up these last few years!

thats sort of the point I was trying to make. Over the course of last season, or the last 4 seasons Saints have been the best team IMO, and deserve to be held as some sort of benchmark to aspire to. We however, have more Sl trophies in that time, so also should be due some praise, and will go down in history as a more sucessful SL side.

2004 - leeds
2005 - bulls
2006 - saints
2007 - leeds
2008 - leeds

The past half decade has all been about leeds, we've had the lions share of the titles, winning 3 to saints and bulls 1. Not to mention being runners up in 05 as well.

Saints place in history over the recent time period is in the Challenge cup.

I would have thought as the most consistant team in SL, that would be a better yardstick, to be fair
