Shame it couldn't have been a Leeds saints grand final. That just sounds right.

Fancy us to win this. Forwards will be key. Saints not played at full strength for a couple of weeks may take them 10/15to get into the swing of things. Either way a good season.

Not really a good season , but we have probably done as well as we could with everything against us , next season will be the Acid test and with the three quality signings then top 3 is the minimum requirement .

Smith wont start i dont think. I reckon we might have to start Mik, Prior and Tete to counteract Walmsley early on. He bulldozed us the other week but we was missing Mik and Zane that night.

Saints are going to win another grand final practically by default.

This isn’t so bad for us. Think rest. Every day’s additional rest helps us. The Saints game is a day later than the Cats game and without all the travel.

Re Walmsley, we need to do to him what he's done so successfully to us. He's a big man and a strong man. Pain-wise, he feels it. We need to do a (legal) number on him. He's hard but he's no JP.

We will have to reduce unforced errors and create more through the spine players to trouble Saints. I feel we’ll have to score more points than we did against Wigan to have a chance.

Loved seeing the Warrington faces almost as much as the Wigan faces the night before.

I really don’t think we are miles off, our full strength pack is better than theirs, we gave no halves at the moment and ate still a bit lacking out wide. We will need some luck and the rub of the green, but people handing this game to saints far too easily, see Warrington last night.

A lot will depend on the disciplinary. If Mik and Newman are banned, then we will struggle.

I’d like to think neither Mik nor Newman will get banned. I know we need to protect players but these are play-off games. I think most of us feel the judiciary is being too over-zealous, we need a more common sense approach.

We certainly have a chance against Saints but will be underdogs. I’m not sure their week off is a positive, this time of year momentum is a great thing.

Which incident was the Newman one? Just gonna have a look now out of interest. Would be a huge boost for Saints if either of those two are out, I’m a big fan of both of them.

Interesting to hear another poster say your pack is better than ours. Not sure I’d go that far but I do like Prior, Dwyer, Oledzki and Martin. However I’m confident Walmsley, Roby, Matautia and Knowles would all be in a combined pack of our sides.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t confident going into next Friday but it won’t be easy and I’m taking nothing for granted. If we play like we can then we should be fine. Really looking forward to it.

The Newman incident was pretty much the last play of the game.

It was only a slap after their player had started wrestling with L Briscoe.

I must be missing something. Right at the end Briscoe is pushing and shoving someone and Martin gets involved but Newman is nowhere near.

Gildart didn't just happen to have a nose bleed at that particular time. I think Stains away will be a step too far even with these players, but I'm sure we'll give our best either way.

Newman did push out at Gildart and bust his lip a bit, but the Wiganers were being s cos they lost… if that gets a ban it’s ridiculous. The game needs its star players involved in the big games, there’s no risk of serious injury and it was just handbags between backs.

If they are bothered about preventing injuries stop three man tackles where they’re trying the break the ball carrier’s back or legs. Stop the knee slides. There were some toilet tackles from Wigan in that game, I’ll be writing a letter at this rate!
