| Quote ="RHINO-MARK"The effort was there yes & ive not seen ANYONE criticise the youngsters so dont know what point you're trying make there.
We still have enough 1st Team experience to resemble some sort of orgsnised Team with a game plan & there's nothing wrong with expecting that.
Agree with everything else.
The win was vital it was very ugly but its a win & hopefully something we can build on but lets be clear the next phase of recruitment needs to be much better otherwise its a long time before we're genuine GF contenders.'"
Don't expect miracles on recruitment front. We'll add a few good players, but loose a few too. We have to commit and go with what we've got. If we can see Walker/Myler Gale and Eastmond on the field together, with a Hooker who can pass we'll be right up there again...
Our pack will hold it's own with anyone.
Tet back now. That will make massive difference. Should never have been banned........

| Gannon looked really really classy for his age, incredible talent, can't wait to watch him develop.
O'Connor was class too. Showed a lot in attack and bags and bags of energy in defence. Should be in our 17 going forward just on his current form.
Gale back from another injury set back, I'm well aware, but I just find his attack so basic. Left edge, left edge, left edge. Can read him like a book. Would prefer him to mix things up. Especially when he is the only half we have out there at the moment.

| I do quite like Gale. Better kicking game than we’ve had for ages, and he’s a competitor. Been out a good while and needs to play himself back to form.
We just have nothing on the other side of the field at the moment, apart from Mik.
I don’t think I’ve seen him pass a ball before and then that happened. Really pleased for the boys to get a “W”. Can build from here.

| Last night probably a game where the 2 points was more important than the actual match which won't take long to forget ! Hopefully it eases the pressure a little and with a couple more bodies back next week we step up a level. The effort and attitude has been pretty decent and I don't agree about constantly hammering individual players. I so think though there has to be some questions regarding the coaching particularly in attack. Our basic skills and attacking structures are really lacking and you wonder why.
Acting half distribution is inconsistent at best and while accepting that players are out of position the transition from 6 to 1 into the outside backs looks like its never been practised. People look unsure of their running lines and positioning. These are basic drills which are practised on the training field. As everyone has said impressed with the youngsters especially Gannon who looks one tough kid. O Connor as a hooking option is interesting he does have a real look of Paul McShane who developed himself into an outstanding player.

| Hooker is such a key position. If they cant pass accurately the whole play stops. Christ by the time Dwyer got the ball to Galey for the drop goal attempts he had men right on top of him each time. I can throw a balloon harder than he pass a ball.
O'Connor isnt a 9, will never be a 9 but will make 50 tackles a game. Our 2 hookers are just as poor as O'Connor will be at dummy half and make 50 tackles between tbem but use up 2 or 3 substitutions between them. Yes they make tbe odd scoot here and there.
We need a top class 9 but both have been extended so its not gonna change for 2 years now at least.
O'Connor really has done well when hes played tho. Such a great engine and work rate.

You simply wouldn't be able to understand the rules and would likely turn off.
Way too complicated. Better to go back to basics....
There are only 3 comments on the stream. Still up so you can watch it. Seems to have been put on by sky so official. Did anyone know sky would do that?

| Most of the errors were individual and the players are responsible for themselves.
I’m giving benefit of the doubt to the coaching set-up given they haven’t had fit half backs to work with all through pre-season. You would want to see Leeds look much slicker after another month or two and some bodies back though.

Mate I don’t necessarily disagree that we need a top 9. Want to see more of Leeming. But O’Connor is one of those lads who is a general sportsman. He’s played various positions as a junior and has a passing and kicking game.
We’ll see but he looks like he deserves a place in the 17 at the moment. Fair play to him.

| Marty you’ve got lads like Mik and gannon as well as prior who regardless of the circumstances (like being 17 and not playing much for a year) are of the requisite quality to put In performances that with at least the minimum of limited errors and sound discipline. The stand outs for being nowhere near the standard like both briscoes, Sutcliffe, mellor and Martin, both 9s (which it’s strange you pick out as being poor, maybe they’ve got mitigation too like an ever changing spine?).
Get real nobody is expecting polished performances but some of the basic stuff is woeful, case in point that summed it up for me was the pass (Sutcliffe?) slung out late on from a tap penalty near their line, just chucked across the line and nearly bounced back into their possession. I know you’ve known Sinfield since he was yay high and you want to go into battle for him, I know that supporters (including me) vent when they’ve seen quite enough of Tom Briscoe pretend to be a rugby player but it’s clear agars not enamoured with the performances either, do you not think what’s being said on here is reflecting (albeit magnified) what he’s saying in his post match interviews. You better go tell agar he’s being unreasonable.

| 2 poor teams last night.
We were always going to struggle to get over the line with the team line up. Gale attacked down the left but that side was missing quality on that edge. On our right we had Hurrell but our playmaker was Sutcliffe so no real creativity.
Why not have Hurrell on the left with Handley and have a makeshift right edge.
I thought the call at the end was tough but correct and as Agar said post match that with this rule change the sport has created this problem.
I thought O'connor was our best player and Gannon was great too. I thought Martin and Hurrell were very ordinary but they essentially won us the game with a big play each. We need more big plays throughout the game from our senior players.
Sutcliffe needs more of a structured game when attacking. I thought he did some great defensive shots and made a couple of half breaks when running but created nothing down the right.
Handley was very quiet I don't even really remember seeing him.
The future is still bright for Leeds but its not going to be bright this season.

| Relieved with the 2 points but that was awful, agree with Agar that there was just too much dumb stuff happening.
I saw Sean Longs input mentioned earlier in the season but thought id leave it a few games to see what kind of structures we were implementing...so far, even taking into account our injury situation, id be having a long, hard look at myself if i was the attack coach for this team. We'r running the same 2 option play time and time again...Hit Mellor as lead runner or the fullback out the back, you see that play in the national conference. There needs to be so much more going on around that play for it to work at this level, for a start, actually having a structured plan and setting it up with your earlier tackles in the set to create a numbers advantage...which we dont do.
Really pleased with OConnor and Gannon, read an interview with Terry OConnor where he mentioned Agar had discussed Jarrod at hooker, said he'd played a lot of halfback at community level so his passing game is there. Gannon just looks like a young Moz, superb talent.
Our pack looks very solid and gave us enough platform to score a lot of points so theres somthing to build on, but our Attack in the opposition 20m looks absolutely dreadful.

| I don’t have any criticism of the team.
The effort was there and generally the defence was pretty good.
There was also some very good individual performances - Mik, Prior, King, Gannon.
No issues with the pack, especially when Tet and Tommy are back.
My issue with last night, and the previous 2 games, is that we just don’t look like a team.
We look incohesive, disorganised, no shape, no structure.
That’s down to the coaching.
Look at the best SL or NRL teams.
It’s rarely about individuals, they are well drilled cohesive teams.
Because they have good coaches.
We can’t keep blaming the injuries on that.
The coaching team had 2 weeks to prepare for last night and we looked a shambles at times.
Some poor selection decisions last night as well.
Sutcliffe should never be in the halves and Briscoe should not have been in the centre.
Should have played Sutcliffe in the centre and may as well have played O’Connor in the halves. He looked to have the best hands on the pitch.
And why switch Leeming and Dwyer? Bringing Dwyer on when the opposition are starting to tire has worked ok. Why change it?
We should stick with Agar and Long for the full season. No need to knee jerk.
But at the moment I don’t see them as the long term solution.
Sinfield needs to be looking at recruitment for key positions (6, Wing, FB and Prior) as well as new coaching staff.
Two very poor teams, but yes a win is a win and we move on.

We were Crap last night but still won. People who know about RL think Briscoes a, good player I actually think Lukes a good player and scored a magnificent try lay night that wasn't given. We need to improve, everyone knows that. What more do you want done?

| Seth, that pass from the tap penalty, the short kick off, the inaccurate passes for drop goal attempts all inexcusable Seth. Under 9s stuff. Unprofessional. All individual errors.
With regards to the 9s, an inaccurate 5 yard pass is nothing to do with a lack of a regular spine Seth, its basic skill. A 100% requirement for any hooker. Pass to ball to, when and how the receiver needs it. Look at the pass Dwyer threw when Tom Briscoe had to reach back one handed and knocked on. Thats nothing to do with lack of a regular spine.
Rhyse Martin, i thought did ok 2nd half, but was told to get fitter in the off season and didnt. You mention Mellor but i personally have no issue with him, he does his job for me. Sutcliffe will never be a 6, hes a player playing out of position. Tom Briscoe is a player that carries the ball well, takes the few chances he gets and is just a few months out from returning from an ACL injury. Is that an excuse for a rugby player? I would agree his time is probably up but your comment above is disrespectful for a player who has served the club well in my opinion.
You say im going into bat with Kev, not true at all. Ive said repeatedly on here our overseas recruitment and extending certain players was mistakes. Having said that i watch a team working its nuts off and giving their all 9 out of 10 weeks under near impossible circumstances and Kev and Agar deserve a lot of praise for changing the spirit and culture in the club in my opinion. Some of the comments on Eastmond on here recently show a real lack of understanding. Feel really sorry for him.
The squad is decimated with injuries, how many was out last night? Loads. With players playing longer minutes than they should, weve kids in weekly, weve a different spine weekly.
KR aside the team has competed hard every game yet you wouldnt believe it from the comments on here.
We all agree the performances are not the standard we want, the club agree. Some will say sack everyone and start again. Some will use excuses/reasons to maybe cover the cracks. The truth is probably somewhere inbetween.

Luke is a squad filler for me. A useful back up. He runs ok at times but hes got an error in him. His 'try'last night was a great effort but was 100% the correct decision by the video ref. He lost the ball and never regained full control. Hes a good finisher tho usually.

Spot on with everything Matt.
Pack looks solid. Love the look of Gannon.
I could see O’Connor as a hooker. Great work rate and distribution.
And yeh, Longs influence is non-existent at the moment.
I can sense many on here jumping up and down saying we’ve been decimated by injuries in the halves all season!!!
Yes, true.
But what does Long do in training?
Does he turn up and Agar tell him to go home because the halves are injured?
No. He works with what he’s got. That’s what he’s paid to do.
