| Quote ="rhinoms"It's hard to be 100% sure on that one imo.
In the past saints have gone there with patched up sides and still won oh plus they were also missing cunningham and cayless.
Either way warrington showed that they can be competitive as they do every season and i still put them in the same group as the giants and HKR although the other 2 have managed to beat saints
'"
Not saying its 100%, just an opinion. Forgot about Cunningam so thats fair enough, but Cayless never plays anyway and seems a waste of time.
Still think Wire were harder hit than Saints in the injuries department, and a smaller squad to choose from. And that Morley makes such a huge difference to that side.

I agree re-morley he does offer so much to them but great teams adapt to their situations within matchs and thats 1 of the places i think wire are short at the moment.

Yep, but when you are also missing your second choice prop, and your main halfback who is also second choice captain, it is a bit different to just missing the odd player.

In terms of key personnel I thought so on the night but that's just my opinion.
As it turned out:
Long was replaced by Eastmond and wasn't really missed.
Cunningham was replaced by Roby and Lomax and wasn't really missed.
Gidley was replaced by Gilmour and Wheeler and wasn't really missed.
St Helens still look the side to beat this season.

But with Morley, Rahuiha(spelling again), Briers, Higham, and Hicks missing for Wire, IMO they were harder hit.
Agreed, Saints really impressed me on Friday. Kind of put my confidence on Leeds out just a little, but not fully.

| Quote ="Gotcha"Thing is though, with this new structure they might not have to do it twice in 2 weeks.
They are only 3 points from 4th and 4 points from 3rd. If they finish in those positions then the one off game you talked about comes into place. And if they succeed there then they get a week off and an home draw for the next game, which might even be an easier game.'"
Actually, if they finish in the top 4 with Leeds, Saints and AN Other, then they are very likley to play either Leeds & Saints twice before even the final, because the new play off system is a pile of Poo! If they finish outside of the top 4, then it is impossible for them to meet anyone more than once, even the team a bottom 4 side would play in the final would be the first time they had played them.

Agreed. Interesting stats that sky showed comparing the SL top Centres on Friday night. Keith, statistically speaking is the man!

| I don't think you guys have too much to worry about yet, we're getting there but certainly aren't anywhere near yet.
We were definately hit harder than Saints, Morley, Briers, Rauhihi, Higham, Hicks out and Grix and Clarke didn't see a half out.
That meant we started the second half with neither of our starting halfbacks and only 2 subs for the second half, probably explained why we burnt out.
IMO Saints and Leeds are still a way ahead yet but on our day I still think we're the third best team, closely followed by Wigan then KR.

Rubbish! We lost Fas and Wheeler during the match, leaving us with only two subs for most of the second half, and Wello had stitches in his face and Graham was playing with torn ligaments in his wrists! On top of that we were missing Dean, Cayless, Gidley, Cunningham, Long, Frodsham and Lyon (oh, sorry, he left). On top of that, four of our guys were under 20!
So we were worse off than you by a country mile!

Mr Moran isn't a leading business man for nothing.
I guarantee the higher paid aussies arent on as much as some would have you believe, absolutely no where near in fact, they couldn't be, otherwise we'd be over the cap.
Add to that some of our older contingent on newer deals are on much, much lower than they previously were.

You can't count Dean and Frodsham, neither are first team regulars, Cayless, while a loss hasnt played hardly a game all season.
Losing both your half backs during the game is worse, especially when your interchange forwards have to come on as centres.

| we were without briers hicks morley higham rauhihi and blythe
and considering people say there is no chance of us playing without briers , morley is our big prop who lifts the team and hicks is our goal kicker and prolific try scorer i think we did well
also we lost grix and clarke so for most of the game we was playing with only 2 subs at the end of the day the best team probably won but it was an entertaining match to watch and shows that warrington could be challenging up there come the end of the season when hopefully we will have our players back from injury
