| Walters reminds me a lot of how Chris Clarkson looked when he first came into the team.
Hits above his weight defensively, runs some very clever lines both in support and off the ball.
Hopefully he won't regress in the way Clarkson seems to have done. I wouldn't be surprised to see him elsewhere in 2015.

| Walters seems more like JJB to me, he has a great engine and is really aggressive on both sides of the ball. To me Clarkson simply isn't agressive enough, he's been a little better in the games he's played this year but he's nothing more than an average back rower at present andd I doubt he'll get another contract with Leeds if Minchella, England, Foster, and Walters develop as we hope.

Will be interesting to see how the loan system goes when the structure changes next year. The top 8 no relegation period we didn't really see many leave Leeds and get a decent loan period in apart from BJB at Quins. We've sent quite a few out this year but to clubs with obvious problems and relegation returned.

I made the same point.
The way he has contributed off the bench etc.
Clarkson does looks redundant for Leeds at present. His development hasn't happened.

| To me Clarkson was always going to be what he is, I've never really bought into the hype, he's a solid SL level back row. A poor mans Dallas Johnson, and a better version of Simon Worrall. The "he runs good lines" line has always been a lttle bit overstated, he may hit a good line once in every 5 or 6 matches (at best) but the rest of the time he just trundells the ball up very ineffectivly in a (dear I say) Ian Kirke esque manner.

| Props - Singleton, Bailey, Leuluai, Kirke, Peacock, Baldwinson, Yates, Cuthbertson
Second Row - Ablett, Achurch, Jones-Buchanan, Clarkson, Walters, Tonks, Ward, Mulhern, Minchella, Foster, Delaney.
Someone has to be leaving from that list, surely?

Kirke for me should be the first to depart ,Bailey hasn't offered much over the last 18 months ,is KL going round again? if so not sure that's a good call.
Singleton still pretty raw ,Baldwinson very much a raw youngster with potential.
Yates is still to play so not sure what impact he will have + or -.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Jjb retire he is picking up a lot of heavy injuries ,I think Foster ,Minchella and Walters will ALL be ahead of Clarkson.
Wouldn't be sad to see a bit of a cull tbh and at least 1 more Prop brought in also depending on who we retain for the Acadamy we could see a few out on dual reg/loan.

| One of these days, I'll see Singleton pass a ball or break a tackle.
Just hopeful it's soon.
Works hard, but that's about it at the moment.

Works Hard is a big improvement on some of our more senior forwards.
Who'd want a hard working forward eh?

| What worries me more about our young forwards is when you look across the Pennines.
Sorry but at under 16's on joining professionally these players are every bit as good as those across the Pennines. Yet Wigan seem to introduce young forwards like they have being playing for years. For us the excuse is they have years to learn.
Singleton was way ahead of his counterparts in his age group three years ago. He is not the match for a few of them now.

| So we lose Kylie & JP at the same time with only Cuthbertson signed from outside the Club!
Kirke can leave as well imo that would leave us short of quality in the front row even IF we move Delaney up I'm sure GH has a plan but not sure I like the idea of losing both of our best props at once.

Let's say next year he replicates form and performance of this year, why not give him another year deal for the 2016 season!

| Bailey, Peacock, Leuluai, Kirke, Singleton, Yates, Baldwinson, Cuthbertson next season. Assuming the starting props will be Peacock, Leuluai with Cuthbertson and AN other on the bench. There will be some unhappy players.
Also, note that Bailey, Peacock, Leuluai, Kirke, Singleton, Yates contracts all come to an end at end of 2015 season.

I don't think he does have a plan. He has been incredibly short sighted over the last couple of years. I think he just can not let go of what he has.

In respect of exactly what I said. You only have to look at the other replies also. The planning for this squad is really bad. Peacock and Kylie can not play for ever, they are both in important roles. Regardless of how good he is, Peacock has not been anything close this year to what he was last year, and that will only reduce again (but we need him). Kylie had a fantastic start to the year, was still good in the middle, and as looked poor since returning from injury. Last season he had a fantastic start to the year, was good in the middle, and poor third. Bit of a pattern.
Kirke, Bailey, quite frankly offer us nothing that you will not get from other younger, hungrier players.
So the short sightedness is holding on and not moving on. Cuthbertson, I give credit is a move in the right direction and at least one part of the puzzle going forward. But even then it is a gamble, just like any other player who is not top in the game as to whether it will work, or more importantly he will settle.
Give McDermott credit though, he has at times tried to bring on others this year, which he was failing on previously. The problem is in a lot of cases, those bringing on were in positions we were not looking at needing short term replacements.

| At the moment we have JP, Kylie, Singleton, Bailey, Kirke, and Yates, plus Delaney and JJB who can play prop to a decent level at the moment, next season we have Cuthbertson, and Baldwinson to be added to the squad, and up to this point nobody is leaving so just how many props do some people want us to have?!
At the moment we don't know whom will be here this time next year. Asumming JP, and Kylie retire, and Kirke and Bailey aren't retained. That still leaves us with Singleton, Cuthbertson, Baldwinson and Yates. I would imagine we'll try and seek a prop or 2 for 2016 but right now I'm not too worried, as I'm sure the club are monitoring players whom will be available. To be fair to the club, there isn't exactly many quality props available right now, Huby's off to Hudds, and Taylor is probably off to Hull, but if that move doesn't go through I hope we try and sign him.

| I think (unfortunately IMO) that Kirke & Bailey are here to stay until they retire. I cannot see anyway that GH will allow 4 senior props to leave at the end of 2015.

Yates is still very much a "who knows" gamble I hope it works btw just pointing that out.
Singleton is still learning ,Kirke/Bailey are neither consistent or good enough to step into either JP's or Kylies shoes and both Delaney & Jjb will struggle to do long minutes there against the bigger packs in SL whilst also not forgetting JJb's age/recent recurring injury woes.
Hopefully Baldwinson can break through I really rate the kid but scratch the surface and it doesn't look that great.
One thing we all know in this sport as well is that when age "gets yer" its over now JP is a colossus and Kylie made of stone but they can't go on forever and I even question whether next year will be one too far for Kylie irrespective of this years efforts.
I like the Cuthbertson signing (on paper at least) but I still think this pack needs "refreshing" I also don't think using Achurch as a prop works either I know you didn't say as such just saying mate.
I would prefer GH to sign at least one more prop now and say to Kirke ,Bailey ,Clarkson cheers we wish you all the best.

Leeds should have been sorting this year for Peacock without a doubt. He has already said he is finishing next year, and made it clear he won't change his mind.
Huby and Simms are quality signings for our rivals, had we added one of those with Cutherbertson, not resigned Kylie, and got rid of one of Bailey or Kirke, we would have had very good front row options for next year, which would have brought along Singleton, Baldwinson and Mulhern nicely. Ready for Peacock leaving the year after.
That would have been planning.
What we have is quite clear that Hetherington is pinning everything on the hope that Peacock will change his mind.
