You are right I don't work in the legal sector but we are talking about rugby league here not the law of the land. And previous offences are taken into account in rugby league were as in a court this is not the case.

It might have escaped your notice but the whole concept of a consistent spelling reform was designed to make it easier for us all to understand each other better. "Can't be d" meens wee cud agen orl spell how wee wont two and it then meks reeding a reet bluddy chaw

I like how this implies it somehow takes longer / is more effort to spell correctly than not. Like 'definately' somehow is less effort to type than 'definitely', or that spelling correctly is something that you only do at work, before 'gowing bak two spelling rong inn you're own thyme'.
