Played for Wakefield against Leeds on Boxing Day, so again puts things right in to perspective.

i feel a bit wierd tonight, although shocked and numb about the loss of Leon, i also feel very proud to be a Rugby League fan after reading all the messages on all the boards of all clubs, we are one big family no matter what team you follow we all pull together in times like this

Not stupid at all Loz. I was choking up telling my Granddad about it. The lad obviously had a good long career ahead of him and for someone to die doing something they love is very sad.

Ive read somewhere that he took a hit to the head in a tackle, got up played the ball then collapsed. Not sure how true it is. Also seen it reported as a heart attack.

Good to see i wasnt the only one who felt a little choked up about it, stopped me in my tracks.

Makes our petty squabling over the last couple of days seem so pointless doesn't it.

I flicked Sky on to watch the final 30 mins of the Celtic-Wakey game and saw us playing Saints in the Grand Final. When they said the game had been postponed I assumed the standard flooded pitch/floodlight failure etc. type scenario and settled in to watch the game. When the annoucement came through I was stunned. I went from the huge high of watching the GF replay and all the memories it brought back to thinking about the young lad. I hate to imagine the sort of effect it would have on any family.

Thoughts go out to his friends and family and also to everyone at Wakey and their fans.

Like always, Rugby league fans will stick together.

A few of my mates were on the same team as him when it happened tonight, dread to think how they're feeling now.

I would imagine the journey home will be the longest trip they have ever made.

I think everyone needs to spare a thought for the players of both teams having to witness a friend and colleague being involved in such a tragic event.
