| Exactly. Get em on sale before Christmas, maybe even a special shirt commemorating the treble, I have no issue with it being milked, but it needs to be a big event that spreads the game to new people and gains profile. Not taking a bit extra from the same people who will turn up another 10+ times that year.

| As others have mentioned, Elland Road is a tired old stadium which is not really fan friendly and is still, when all is said and done, situated in Leeds like Headingley is so its hardly anymore than preaching to the converted when trying to promote the game around the local area which is all that wil happen, we have seen it all before. Yes you may get a few more thousand on the gate but personally i fail to see how that makes the game any bigger or further reaching than it is being played at Headingley.
I'm all for expansion if its done right, and if we were to take the game out of the RL heartlands to a bigger stadium elsewhere, with a big ambitious promotion drive like you mention then i'm with you and hopefully that would pay dividends but if its a straight toss up between Headingley and Elland road, it's Headingley without a doubt for me.

Good grief that's hideous.
Also, it doesn't feature every kit we've played in this season as the Magic Weekend charity kit isn't represented - unless it's on the back somewhere.

Was looking forward to getting a shirt for our 12 year old who's followed this fantastic season really closely. Not going anywhere near that testcard abomination. We need a kit designer worthy of this club i.e. not ISC.

| I'd would rather we maybe take the game the game on the road to London
But in terms of taking the game to Elland Road, we still have very little presense in our own city outside of North Leeds. We have a 800k population and still only get an average 14k home fans a game, and have done for the last 10 years. Which is great for a RL club but could we do better? The answer is a big YES.
You can walk every inch around this city today and would seen no sign of us winning the treble (other than back pages of the YEP) and that season tickets are available for 2016.
We could build our brand so much bigger and the WCC is a great way to do it. Having it at HQ shows no ambition and is purely to line the pockets of the club
. Which I don't have a problem with, but I wish we could look at the bigger picture.

| I have to agree. The recent crop of replica shirt have not looked great and is it just me or do they look worse the closer you get? The printing and graphics, to my eye, look cheap and tacky.

| Haha! It looks like a cast off from the early 90s football kits, just worse with right angles and straight lines. Wouldn't be quite as bad without the third Wembley one.
Couldn't they have maybe done it in 3 being sliced at a 45 degree angle instead so there isn't quite so much going on..?

| No-brainer really. Pointless giving up home advantage, paying rent, losing out on concession income etc to somewhere like Elland Road just to stick an extra 5-10k on the gate.

Correct I was home less than a week ago and I noticed the changes in the city once again very cosmopolitan now and lots of tourists and visitors etc if it had been Philadelphia Phillies who had just won the World Series or eagles won super bowl it would be splashed all over the city

Indeed, and next year we can not sell out HQ for an SL game, we can sell cc final and gf tickets for a diverse, hold 4 nations games at Huddersfield, Wigan, Leigh and Hull and not sell them out either, we can count out foxy bingo, heinz bug soup and first utility sponsorship money and wonder why it so low, then wonder why the wcs doesnt have a sponsor yet and then blame it all on the union media

Because playing the game at Elland Road would generate so much more publicity and sponsorship for the occasion and the sport as a whole.

yeah it would. 3 games pitting the best 6 teams in world rugby against each other to decide the best competition and crown the worlds best club, getting 100/120k between them will get people talking, it will get publicity, it will be covered by the papers, it will be on the news, It would get a hell of a lot of mentions and a hell of a lot of visibility. That of course being the reason why sponsors, sponsor.
3 glorified friendlies barely breaking a 20k average wont.

And where are these 120k spectators going to come from? This isn't Field of Dreams. Nigel Wood isn't Kevin Costner.
It's alright bandying these numbers around, but there is absolutely no evidence to support the possibility of reaching them.

We have already got 40k for one of these games so we are a third of the way there already.
Wigan have got 25k at the DW, for it so only need to find another 15k, Saints got 23k in 2007 so they only need to find 17k.
So even on the basis of what we have already achieved in the last few years we only need to find 32k over three games and we are hitting 120k, we only need to find 12k and we are breaking the 100k mark.
And when we remember Wigan got 36k at central park we repeat that, and the 40k we got and we only needs Sts to get there 23k and we are pretty much there.
But that is hard, and the pay off might not be this year, or next year, but the years after and that simply isnt the rugby league way.

Never thought I would hear Nigel Wood compared to Kevin Costner, lol. Perhaps more Little John than Robin Hood.

| It's a lack of ambition, you see it throughout Rugby league and Leeds aren't the worst culprits in doing this but if you have an opportunity to put 10k+ on the gate, even if it doesn't make you the money that night, then you should take it. We basically sold out a second string friendly less than a month ago. If you can't get more than that for the two best in the world going head to head then I shake my head.
The capacity at Headingley has steadily dropped since we had our record SL crowd and despite the side being more successful we aren't exactly turning people away, it's no good just sitting there as the biggest fish in a small pond and being happy with that, push on. Get those sold out signs up regularly. Tap into the market that might actually have some money, rather than wringing the same bunch over and over.
Invest in ambition, splash the money around a bit, we have plenty spare after a year like 2015. Sign a couple of stars and expand the marketing push/ Good playerrs leave, sign better ones, win trophies one year, aim to win more the next. Finish top one year, aim to finish well clear the next. It might not work out but if it does then the result lasts for generations, the failure messes up the balance sheet for a few seasons.

| IMO they should try and do a triple header at somewhere like Old Trafford or the Etihad. Have some sections with family priced tickets of say £20 for an adult and £5 for kids and try and get 50/60,000 for the 3 games.
