I think in a game lots of things happen - to blame McGuire for what was a simple play between your two favourite players is blindness in my opinion - I would not expect anything else from you - some players are beyond blame? One passed when he didn't need to and one could not catch a simple pass - how you considered that less important than a pass and drop that led to a try is beyond comprehension to anyone who doesn't have an agenda!!

It was a culmination of fekk-ups that cost us the game, Briscoe's was simple the icing on a large sh*t-cake.

Not really now in hindsight. At the time I was delighted Hardaker managed to sneak over to avoid a drop out, now I wish he'd have been tackled in goal. Had Sinfield gone himself and been pushed back and Catalans still managed to score in the final 60 secs then ppl say why the hell didn't he pass?

I think the level of deflection you are showing is pretty obvious to most - don't see a lot of peeps defending your point of view - do you see many to be honest? Gareth yes but to highlight one issue with one player is a touch harsh given that none of your 3 favourite players actually contributed a whole lot in the game!!

It wasn't the Briscoe incident that cost you the game.
It was a whole series of things that happened in the game.
It was nip and tuck for a lot of the game.

How many times these days (and in todays games did we see points scored from a mistake....)?

I don't see many agreeing with you - G1 apart!! - most are saying the overall performance was not good enough - your ability to read and cogitate is struggling - blinded by your desire to attribute blame away from your favourites? Will you be moving your support away given your favourite has moved clubs?

Leeds were terrible tonight - not one of their senior players stood up to be counted - perhaps if anyone of those, and I include McGuire, had the results would have been different?

As individual errors go, I think Briscoe enters a Top 3 of shame, accompanied by John Gallaghers dropped bomb at Hull and Marcus Bai's in goal pass.

is brisoe an upgrade on BJB? on this seasons evidence no but he deserves another season. leeds should have had that game killed off.

Tom Briscoe's error resulted in the loss, however the team as a whole should take the blame collectively. The entire team performance was flat from minute 1.

Sadly I fear the the greatest period of success this great club as ever had is now over. Time to put some of the legends out to grass and have a serious rebuild.

Because we were right in the corner, same reason it wasn't Aiton over at dummy half. I don't think Bentham would've waited until Peacock or JJB trotted over from the middle of the pitch to first receiver.

Anyway it's water under the bridge. I posted some weeks ago that we were jaded. We seem to lack that sparkle and pace we once had. Our tackling lacks the bite and venom the Wigan side has.
We have lost a crunch match, it's happened before and will happen again.
My main concern is at the moment without any major additions apart from cuthbert we will struggle next season. Mainly due to the advanced years of some of our main players.

I agree entirely with you on the last point, and have not alluded to anything different all night. But that doesn't excuse needless silly penalties from way up the pitch in a controlling situations and it doesn't matter who the player was that gave the penalty away. You are only getting so defensive because of who the player happened to be.

I know we were awful and what not and that was the cause of us losing the game, but weren't Catalan offside at the PTB for Briscoe's knock on?

Some of the others have points in the bag , Briscoe is not up to it i have been telling you for months , The whole performance was woefull though as it has been for the last two thirds of the season .

Remember those 2 well, its a shame Biscoes wasnt against us too

TBF regarding Briscoe. The guy he replaced, BJB, came up with blunders in the big games. The 2012 GF he dropped a bomb for Wire's first try. In the 2011 CC final he had a chance to take on the much slower Pat Richards and went for a chip over instead. And in the 2011 GF he messed up several times in the 2nd half but we time for the team to bounce back in those two GF example. What really did for Briscoe was that it was done with no time left on the clock.

Thank the gods he has got the whole close season to (hopefully) get over it. He IS a better error prone but you're right.....BJB was/is worse for giving the jitters in defence. He did seem to have a better understanding outside Watkins on attack though
