Easy he dropped some ball and was responsible for trys conceded. All in all he's not playing well and hasn't impressed for some time. Its a concern. Alot of wingers are confidence players, he walked over for 3 easy trys against HR at start of season we could do with the same again to build his confidence back up.

Which goes to prove a point on certain posters. Hall has done that at least half a dozen times this year, yet where is the same frothing at the mouth? There isn't and there shouldn't be, but some posters really do have favourites.

That's fair enough Hall has dropped some ball and also been accountable for letting in some soft trys but Hall contributes more than Briscoe, more trys more work rate and effectiveness at carrying ball back and is starting to gel with Moon (with them both setting each other up for scores). Briscoe is the man to replace BJB and as yet he doesn't look a better replacement. Thats why the spotlights on him, he has big shoes to fill. Watkins and BJB as a partnership just works, they know where each other are seamlessly. I hope in time, sooner rather than later, Briscoe gets that with Watkins as at the moment its stuttering. But as I said earlier, a few walk over trys may be what he needs to build his confidence back up.

Pretty much my pick, except I'd go Walters for McGuire. The former has been one of our few recent brighter performers and on recent form there's been little threat from our halves, regardless of who's played. Sinfield's our most accomplished kicker and our leader and has to play, therefore it's a straight choice between Burrow and McGuire for me.

I also think Brisoce has not produced consistently enough since Easter, but do think as above said against Cas he was excellent, saving the team numerous times. I also think this thing about Hall being better returning is a bit of a stuck record. Hall gets a lot more kicks to him than the other side, the reason for that is that he is much slower to turn, and his handling is more suspect. We also attack on our left much more than the right. He therefore gets more carries of the ball than the right. Despite this he is only 10% higher on metres made than Briscoe, and is effectiveness with that carry (metres per carry) is considerably less. To add to this he has 50% more handling errors than Briscoe.
That is not a dig at Hall, far from it, it is just clear factual reasoning on how some players things are ignored, and others tend to be held to task when something happens. And I repeat again, as some on here find it very hard to read posts, I am NOT saying Briscoe is better than Hall at it, purely that when comparing the two, things are ignored from certain people.
FWIW I think the slip from Briscoe was poor on Friday, but It was a slip which happens. What I would not forgive from my lad in a similar situation playing, is that Hardaker stood there and watched when he could easily have got to that ball after the slip. He was undecided and it cost us. Had he done his job there, the slip by Brisoce probably wouldn't have even been spoken of.
Briscoe is suffering at the moment also from a centre that is not getting his running right. I said up above, Watkins has a hip injury which keeps sticking on him. Had we adequate back up he would have being in for surgery, but they can not do that yet. They are trying to play him through it in the hope It might come right, or at least get to end of season. It is a problem for him and causing him discomfort after games.
Whether it comes back any decent for Briscoe, we will have to wait and see. However, I am surprised at certain posters who raved about Scott Donald and openly used arguments about how bad he was in his first season and fans did not show enough patience, and look how he turned out. Yet now a different year and a different name, and the argument also changes.

Assuming all are fit. The starters mean our best players for creating scores are on from the start (with the exception of the Handley who is unproven at this level but worth his chance with Briscoe so lacking confidence and form) The bench has impact and provides flexibility and these have earned their places above those not selected.

| Which rhinos team will turn up against the wire, will it be the battle hard style grand final team ,or the team which on several occasions has struggled this season.
For the life of me I really don't know about this match, one things for certain some of our big name players will have to produce the goods on a grand scale.
Having watched my recording of wires game against Catalan the wire look rock solid,so they won't be rolling over for us.
Also tony smith is a shrewd coach he will be fully aware of our various frailties .

They'll blast us up the middle, quick play the balls, offloads and then spread it wide quickly.

Apart from the Wakie result, Wire have been producing some good stuff and they are solid.
Leeds need to get the big lads out there. Match them down the middle, slow them down, keep the errors to a minimum and we need to create more chances than of late.
So it's not so vital arguing we should pick 'X' over 'Y' on this one, it's the collective Rhinos which turn up which will determine our chances. Fingers in the air stuff......

T.Briscoe after tons of pratice under the high ball this week.
Watkins
Moon
Hall
Sinfield player coach
Burrow to effectively jump in at dummy half against tiring forwards later in each half.
Peacock alternative player coach
Aiton not entirely sure. Sinfield better but hopeless situation at creative half back at moment and best of bad options there.
Singleton
JJB
Ablett
Delaney as 3rd prop and def for god's sake don't play him second row inside Watkins
Walters
Sutcliffe as cover for LF or maybe SO but not centre that's for sure
Mulhern worth a shot as extra heavy weaponry
Kylie to give it all he's got left for short durations

Shut down M.Monaghan, shut down Warrington (apart from the inevitable kicks to Joel Monaghan for at least one try) so plenty of energy needed at PTB defence. Bailey, when he's on his game, is actually one of our best at this, would be tempted to start him at LF, or at least rotate him with Delaney.
We all know McGuire will be playing so there's no point naming a team without him. So Burrow on the bench, ideally in his best role as impact player, but with the option of just replacing McGuire if he's terrible after 20 minutes.
No idea about the fourth sub. None of Sutcliffe, Achurch or S.Ward have stood out of late.

We will also need to protect Hall at all times from kicks. That is a tactic that Warrington have had particular success against us on over the last couple of seasons, with Monaghan beating Hall numerous times. It's not hard to set yourself as a team to stop that.

Really, Monaghan is consistently near the top of the tries list & is record for the Wolves is outstanding. That suggests to me that it's harder than you suggest to deal with it.

| No, not all Monaghan's tries are from kicks in the air, but a good number are, as are Hall's & any other team in superleague.
We conceded 2 from kicks on Friday - not both inn the air I grant you & we scored 2 ourselves from kicks again not both in the air.
Evidence I'd say that defending kicks is not as easy as maybe you suggested.

Your right, kicks are a lottery, more so with bouncing balls. But kicks to your winger, if his team mates are set up right, should be easier to contend with. This doesn't always happen, as the flow of the game dictates it, defences are always moving. However, the fact that Monaghan has had success over Hall numerous occasions in recent times, suggests it should be a tactic we as a team consciously defend.

| It doesn't help that the defender closest to Hall is often Burrow. Mind you when it was Senior it wasn't much better.
Aerial defence was not on of Senior's strong points but he more than made up for it in other ways.

I think you first point there is a good one, and one The Printer has spoken of before. But that is exactly where I was coming from, knowing we have being caught out by this previously, there is something they can do to try and stop this, move Burrow to other side.
