Having been a regular LB season ticket holder for too many years I have to say that this side are now firmly stuck in the worst kind of confidence sapping rut and I find it hard to see them winning another game this year. Having a small squad which then has been decimated by injuries really hasn't helped. Still think we need an SL presence in the capital but the way the current shower are going is doing no-one any favours at any level.

I do agree with London having a SL team. I hope that with the re-shuffle in 2015 there is a plan to make London a more competitive outft.....and lets be honest I think the Leeds fans would love to see a repat of th 99 cup final again, that was my first CC, it was fantastic...Barrie Mac charging towards the packed Leeds fan stand for his try.

Looks like the London SL 'Project' will continue to depend on the 'charitable' support of David Hughes with 'significant announcements' due soon?!
Heaven forbid the RFL should take a strategic view and put in significant, sustained, targeted and cost effective investment in both playing staff and more importantly in my view in a professional approach to PR, Marketing and Profile building in the capital.
As for yet another 'restructuring' feels to me like moving the chairs on the Titanic! Don't tell me the whole sport in the UK isn't in serious trouble when Hull V Warrington in the semi final of our most 'historic' and eminently promotable competition scrapes together a crowd of just over 10,000 - lamentable

I'd say no, I'd rather have Tomkins, Charnley, Goulding, Thornley & Richards to be honest.

I see Singleton`s been sacrificed for the un dropable Kirke this week

Do you remember Joey Hayes? Chris Smith? Danny Arnold (think that was name)? Leroy Rivett? Even Ade Gardner looked the best at certain times.
When all said and done, they were all crap.
Your point on Singleton, missed that earlier, yet another push poor decision from the coach.

| A lot of Wigan's excellent structural plays put Charnley in for plenty of easy tries. Many games we have had this year Ryan Hall has fed off of scraps, and i cant imagine Charnley would have anymore tries than Ryan has if he was in our team.
Both are top class, but Hall is the complete winger IMO.

| Hall is miles ahead of Charnley. Miles.
Charnley is slightly ahead of BJB, but not by much.
As for dropping Singleton and selecting Kirke, how very predictable. I feel for the lad. I may be over reacting in a Gotcha or Bywater stylee but if wouldn't blame him if he wasn't ringing the NZ warriors and joining his mates.

I have to say I agree. Although I've not seen the last couple of games by all accounts Kirke has been poorer than usual. He undoubtedly has a place in the squad, but at the moment I think that Singleton offers more.

Good grief, just slightly.
Maybe he needs a rest? I don't think he's been fully fit for a few rounds now. With Bailey back we can afford to do that.
But no, let's blame the coach/club as per usual.

Have to agree.only reason i could possibly think of to leave Singleton out for Kirke is that he was carrying a knock recently IIRC and maybe its just precautionary.
We will have to see in the coming weeks but IMO Singleton should now be in the 17 every week even with players back fit, and should certainly be ahead of Kirke in the pecking order.

Kirke has been gash.
The argument for Kirke is that he comes on and does a solid job, so he has to at least do that. Last few weeks he has been sloppy, mainly missing some easy one-on-one tackles whilst retaining his lack of appetite for the ball.
Just looking at the last game, Singleton showed him up again.
So purely on form I would have retained the powerful services of the ever learning and improving Singleton, over the out of form and pointless looking Kirke.
I thought Kirke had a great opportunity over the last couple of months with the lack of JP, Kylie and Bails (at certain stages) to put a marker down to say 'I can be trusted and do more'. He hasn't and he's in the worst run of form of his season.

I pointed out to his supporters it was now time to see what he was made of. He could no longer sit back in the luxury of being JPs "breather". He has shown us what he is made of. Puppy dogs, lollipops and a bright yellow streak.

6 carries at Wakefield last friday I see.

You are over reacting. No maybes about it. Do you know for sure Singleton was dropped? Do you know if he is carrying an injury?
Or in the light of the long term injury to Ward, who some now say was overplayed, could it be that Singleton with his physical direct style is not being overplayed in the hard yards SL position of prop. Perhaps he is being rotated and not risked in a game which we should easily win but instead kept fresh and fit for the up coming playoffs? It would be ironic that those that criticised McDermott for not rotating players are now doing the same when he does. Now that is what you call very predictable!

Correct. He's barely played a dozen games for us..................in his entire Leeds career!
In context probably the same amount as Vickery!

I have heard of scraping the barrell, but this is just embaressing.
Who was stupid enough to say Ward was overplayed? I have heard it said played incorrectly as a battering ram, rather than his natural game, another coaching masterpiece, but overplayed not at all.
Singleton is miles away from overplayed, considering how long it finally took to sink in to start playing the lad.
If Singleton is injured and why he is not in squad, fair enough, but why not state it in the squad announcement. They do it normally with injuries, so why not this time? last week they dropped McShane and didn't say anything about it until releasing afterwards that the was playing for Hunslet (not injured).
It doesn't really matter anyway if Singleton is injured, Kirke like others before him should be dropped, and that is the problem. He has done absolutely nothing this season to warrant his position.
