| Quote ="El Diablo"Probably none, I'm not really sure how rational such concerns would be. But I always found playing on artificial pitches tougher on the ankles (somewhere halfway between grass and the sprain-a-thon sports hall floor). I also find that once healed, ankle ligaments are also slightly stiff for a while, especially when you first get back into playing (there's no substitute for that in my experience, so another week probably makes no odds really).
In the end far better qualified people than me will make that call. My doubt stems from the fact that when you send a recently healed ankle out onto a grass surface you have a wealth of experience and even some trial data to base your risk assessment on. Much as an athletics coach will draw on lots of information about the same injury on track and road (you'll get much more pain on a track, but probably less risk of real damage). The knowledge on how they react on a 3G pitch is much less. It's more absence of the ability to make your risk assessment properly than any specific property being a concern.
Like I say, I'll trust the judgement of the medical staff. That's what they're trained and paid for.'"
I see where you're coming from and of course this is rugby where sudden changes of direction are the norm ... not like running where I used to prefer to re-start training after a sprained ankle on the smoothest surface I could find to avoid turning it again, which was track or tarmac, regardless of the hardness of the surface.

Have to agree....even if it might be a little harsh on Keinhorst.

Maybe Keinhorst could look at game time at back row, given the even less experienced players in the 19.....Delaney of the future

| If fit and the Leeds specialists say he is then he plays.
This one has banana skin written all over it.

| Keeping the team as consistent as possible Minns and Foster to miss out of the 17 match day team. Need another win and should be capable of getting th points at widnes, not a walk over though!

Harsh maybe, but realistically not many centres in the whole of SL would play in front of Watkins (and moon) so Keinhorst will only ever be a backup to these two.
Maximillion, if playing Keinhorst in the pack this may help him get continued game time and credit for his pretty solid recent games.

So unless we see Keinhorst in the pack we could see Foster make his debut.
(Or Watkins might not play)

| Minns is also playing for the 19's so that guarantees Keinhorst a spot, would expect us to line up something like this:
1. Zak Hardaker
2. Ben Jones Bishop
3. Kallum Watkins
4. Joel Moon
5. Ryan Hall
6. Liam Sutcliffe
7. Rob Burrow
8. Richard Moore
9. Paul McShane
10. Jamie Peacock
11. Chris Clarkson
12. Carl Ablett
13. Brad Singleton
14. Mitch Achurch
15. Ian Kirke
16. Jimmy Keinhorst
17. Alex Foster

| Imo if Keinhorst is on the bench then Watkins isn't as fit as he should be and in that case i'd leave Watkins out for an extra week and draft start Keinhorst and get Baldwinson onto the Bench.

Or the coaching team want to give him a stint in the back row. I think if Keinhorst is going to have a future at Leeds he'll have to move into the forwards.

| He's far too light weight to be a forward. Another dumb coaching move if true.

| If Baldwinson needed and convincing that Leeds is not where his future lies then his 5 minutes at Huddersfield and his non inclusion here - especially after JJB getting injured - is just the motivation he needs to put pen to paper on a contract in the NRL. Even more so if Keinhorst is going to play in the second row.
You really do have to wonder about some aspects of youth development and progression at Headingley

| Maybe Baldwinson isn't getting a gig because the club know he is signing/has already signed for NZ Warriors so giving another youngster his chance instead? Just a thought

Perhaps - but then why give him any chance at all?
The object of the exercise is to win games and if he is amongst your best available players than surely he should play regardless?

Sounds bluddy stupid.... as Sal states, if Baldwinson is available and is the best he should play even if he is leaving for NZ. (would you leave out Watkins, Hall etc if you knew they were leaving at the season's end?_

| No,i wouldnt but we dont know what has gone off behind the scenes and baldwinson is hardly an established player in the mould of the players you mentioned.if there has been a fall out between the club and baldwinson over him signing a new deal then the club may have decided not to consider him for first team opportunitys and give other prospects a chance instead.

After his poor defensive performance against Huddesrfield I wouldn't have him anywhere near the match day 18. Fast out of the blocks but really slow back after the tackle leaving gaping holes. Didn't look fit. Surprised he was left on so long.
Sorry if this doesn't fit your anti-McDermott/Leeds rhetoric but from last weeks showing, he's not good enough.
McShane and our back line sound to be playing well. Have we seen a succession change to the team as big as in 2003?
