| 2007 for me personally since that was the first time I was at a final that we won.
After nearly 20 years of following Leeds.
I missed the 99 cup final & 2004 due to being away when the games were on.
2004 for the club since it broke our GF duck.

| 2007 was definately Leeds best performance in any final since 1961,but the more I think about it everyone since 2004 was special in their own way.What about 2008?that one was the final that probably broke Saints spirit in the following GFs.After that game I never said I think we could lose this GF again.Even last year against Wire I never thought we would lose

| Quote ="rhino phil"Ive enjoyed every single one of them (duh) and especially 2007 for the performance and 2011 for the thrill of burrow and proving the doubters wrong from fifth but none will ever match the release of pent up frustration let out following our first GF win in 2004. I've been standing on the terraces of the SS since the early seventies and seen some great teams but having endured the fruitless spending of the 80s and 90s to see a team of Leeds lads win the ultimate prize was very special. I'm sure I wasnt the only one to shed a tear at OT that night'"
Not ashamed to say I sob at every single one we win!

| ...and laugh too. Long's look of horror when he wasn't awarded a 40/20 after kicking for touch from a 20m restart was good. But could never touch a certain player's antics in the dying moment of 2012

| Has to be a toss up between 2004 and 2009 as we were League winners as well. But I think I will go for 2009 as I think it was the best side Leeds had in the recent years. Mind you its close beating Northern in the final in particular after 2003 CG Final.

| 2007. The result was so emphatic because of the physical hammering Leeds gave Saints in the qualifying semi at Knowsley Road - Peacock, Ellis, Toopi, Leuluai & co were immense in that game. Saints didn't have much left in the tank for the GF, despite having an extra week off.
2008 comes close for Daniel Anderson's dressing room hissy fit, not to mention things already mentioned on the thread.
2004 will always be special, but more for the result IMO.
2011 and 2012 were tremendous games but 2009 was a bit of a damp squib in comparison.

| 2007 for me.
2004 was special as well but for the game as well as the result 2007 pips it for me. Scotty Donald's try and big Ali shouting for a big effort at the scrum and crashing over in the corner. Good memory's.
All the wins have been special but 2007 stands out for me for all the above and the cracking semi against saints

| It depends how you want to look at it.
If you look at just the onfield performance then 2007 has to take it, but I preferred 2004 for many other reasons. First Championship win for 32 years – the first I’d witnessed. The ’04 home shirt was and still is my favorite, the perfect end to a nearly perfect season, drinking with friends, we hired a limo that year (it worked out cheaper for all of us than the train/buses/tram).

| I voted for 2004 for the same reasons that others have articulated.
It was the end of a long drought ... but also because it was against the arch-nemesis at that time, Bradford, and just after the Harris debacle.

2007 was the best on-field performance
2011 was the most pleasant of surprises.

| 2004 was great. the weight of decades of failure lifted collectively from the clubs shoulders. joy, relief, pride. the best emotional final.
2007. Big win, and against a team who had not lost a GF. Some great moments and tries particularly in the last 25, and knowing you'd won for about 15 minutes from the end.
2008. What a game. What a performance. Saints had not lost fro 20 odd games or something. Like the year before, Saints came to Old Trafford with a big record, and left with it smashed on the floor. Their toys out of the pram reaction made it even sweeter.
2009 was actually one of the favourites for me. We went in with a league leaders shield under our arm, and I knew we would win, even at 8-0 down. The Lee Smith try was such a close call. It may not have been the best game, but knowing that something special had happened that night sticks in my memory.
2011 - The play-offs were so out of the blue in the context of the regular season & the final followed the same pattern turining round a 2 score lead in emphatic style in the last 20. Burrow's impact. Wow.
2012. I told my mates not to rule Leeds out of the play-offs, but still couldn't beleive we got to Old Trafford again. Once we were there I was certain we'd win again. The place is our second home & the boys know what needs to be done to get the job done. Pretty poor game really, Leeds just made practically 0 errors, and took chances on offer.
I can't pick a favourite. They were all wonderful in their own unique way.
One thing which did strike me was that the scoring pattern was pretty similar for 2004, 2009 & 2012, in that Leeds had managed to claw their way back from a deficit to have a narrow lead defended resolutely (and nervously ) going into the last 10 minutes, then score to take the game beyond the opposition, cue party time in the Leeds end

| Wonder what would have happened if Peacock and McGuire hadn't picked up those cruciate injuries in 2010? Could we really be looking at 6 in a row?

The injury to Mcguire was crucial, i would have fancied us to beat wigan at home with him in the side.

A scoring pattern in all the games,
The last 20 mins of the 6 GF's
2004 = Leeds 6 Bradford 0
2007 = Leeds 14 Saints 0
2008 = Leeds 6 Saints 0
2009 = Leeds 9 Saints 0
2011 = Leeds 24 Saints 0
2012 = Leeds 6 Wire 0
Total = Leeds 65 =#FF0000Opposition 0
To do that in the last 20 mins of your season in the biggest match of your season takes a special effort.

Possibly, I reckon we would've beaten Saints in the final as they again didn't perform well when they got there. The question is Wigan at home, even with Peacock and McGuire it would've been a tough ask because from what I remember Wigan were brilliant in defence that day.

I have heard many an interview with our players, and every time they talk about looking around at their mates at about the hour mark in a Grand Final, and just knowing they are the men you want to be alongside, that they know what's needed.
That is a quite remarkable stat just the same.

Wow. Thats impressive.
IIRC in the 2 finals we lost I think there was only a penalty by Wigan and a drop goal by Agent Harris scored against us in the last 20 mins.

| 2004 just for ending all the years of losing in major finals! i had seen us win in 99 and the yorks cup in 88 but to eventually win the big one for me nothing comes close to the raw emotion of that victory, when Danny scored i cried!! and as stated earlier with a mainly home grown team. They have all been special and 2007 was a great team performance but 2004 everytime for me.

| All GF wins are superb in their own right just as all GF defeats are cruel.
I voted for 2004 though because of the significance even though it wasn't my first Championship win while following Leeds. The emotion of '04 will never be beaten for me albeit for reasons beyond simply watching rugby.

| They are all special, especially for me as I have followed Leeds for over thirty years . As you can imagine I have witnessed many low points so to embark on this run of trophy winning is truly remarkable. My favorite is the last one against the wire. All the pundits had written us off but to win that match after conceding an early try was something special.

| I always like what JJB said behind the post in the 2012 grand final as a player mentioned in one of his interviews....
Has they walked back to the posts after Warrington scored the first try,JJB turned to the lads and said look lads we never score first in these finals So true!!! Just shows how much faith they have in each other

| I think we would have beaten Wigan in 2010, with Danny in the side, no disrespect to anybody else, he was in the form of his life. The way we beat them at Central Park two weeks before gave me the impression with a full side we would have beaten Wigan. They looked shell shocked after that game, eg the abuse directed at Danny when carried off. But we will never know.
