We don't look dangerous near the opposition line because our forwards generally don't threaten to run over the top to score, meaning the opposition aren't dragged into the middle in big numbers, combined with a seeming lack of well-planned and executed sets of 6. Wire at wembley showed exactly what you can do with both - score a lot of points.

Question for Tvoc (or any other statos aspiring to steal his crown):

It would be interesting to see which GF's (or even CC finals too) have Leeds taken the two? And are there any where we haven't?

(If you want to be really comprehensive you could even give the score at the time of the kick!!)

IMO the 2 points only looked good because the Wigan FB dropped the ball at the end and allowed us to get a penalty. If he catches it it's probably Wigan by a point and we'd be moaning about the 2 point option. I appreciate that the weather had a bearing and that it came right on this occasion.

It worked on this occasion and i understand the sentiment regarding our inability to score close range tries. The pressing point for me should have bee trying to fix that during the season to allow greater options.

I'll look at a question and think, how long might that take to work out? If the answer is 5 minutes I'll have a go only to find my estimate to be wholly inadequate.

Since the start of SL as far as I can tell the only Cup Finals in which we've taken the 2 were 2000, 2003 & this year.
As for Grand Finals I believe we have in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009 & 2011.

If there was a guarantee of getting the ball back, I'd be more inclined to agree with you. But there isn't. Too many times have I seen the restart fumbled or a short restart gathered by the opposition and a straightforward kick at goal ending up costing four rather than earning two points.

Kick at goal every time. Points don't come easy in finals so when they're gifted to you, take them. It's certainly not a sign of weakness. As already said there's no guarantee of a try, in fact I'll bet over the season we've lost possession more often than we've scored when running a kickable penalty. Get a breather, run the clock down and get the ball back. No brainer

But you'd still be turning the ball over at yon end of the field and have forced the opposition into more defence.

Indeed, an advantage to both sides, so I suppose neutralises itself. Still worth it though. Often repeat sets that continually lead to nothing can have a negative effect, also worth considering.

I think it comes down to numbers. If you were 6 up I'm guessing you'd take the two. If 4 behind then probaby not the best idea and could be deemed as negative.

No brainer for a team with so many limitations like Leeds.

Discipline - do not give away unnecessary penalties.
Set completion.
11 out of 13 players fronting up in defence.
Every player covering for BJB and Watkins deficiencies in defence.
Every forward fronting up to lay the platform for field position.
So that Sinfield can strangle the life out of the game with his kicking for field position.
Particularly if it rains.
And it probably will.
All that should ensure a 1 point win at least.
Or even better, if...
Warrington are demoralised by the 60th minute mark.
Then Leeds cut loose late in the game.
On the back of Burrow's predictable scoots in wide open space.
Against tired and demoralised opposition.
Then Leeds win by a comfortable margin in the end.
And Sinfield then gets to patronise "All those who doubted this team after finishing 5th again, because this is for YOU!"
