Something of a mixed bag.

3 or 4 Decent ones. Ali's the best of the bunch by a long shot though. Even though he has been somewhat injury prone the last 2 years I still think we have had great value out of him and even at 75% he is better than the majority of 2nd rowers in the SL.

I'm not chucking my boots away either, given that Warrington are supposed to be a team going places and yet they can find a place with the Union-esque rotundness that is David Solamona these days.

If we've got a props crisis, I might just take my kit on Friday evening ....

What happened to Furner ,Poching ,Dunneman and Mckenna?
All played during that era so don't they count?

Apparently you did, along with Wigan. But he opted for us. However, he has picked up an injury already which could be a broken collarbone, so the grass is not necessarily greener!

It's not an unusual occurrence for an average player be selected for rep honours simply because that average player just happened to be in the right place at the right time and playing for a dominant championship-winning club side. That's how Matt Diskin, Ryan Bailey and Danny Ward got selected for GB in 2004.



You're not wrong there.

Nothing happened to them other than their signing for Leeds fell outside the specific time frame I specified. 2004 being the season Leeds moved from nearly men to Champions in this particular era.

If someone wants to draw a different line and produce a larger sample then they are free to do so.

If his ban isn't overturned on appeal & with Burgess' injury does that mean we'll have uncontested scrums like in RU when all the props are injured?

We already are seeing inconsistencies, Westwood did the same to Wellens the week before caught by tv and don't even think his was reported?

Doesn't make good Reading. Don't have loads of confidence in kirke stepping up and leading us forward. Hope the academy props are up to it. I walked past them (the academy props) at quins game and they didn't fill me with confidence. I am sure they are good and will be but what I mean by this is they did look like boys. Lets hope we get some bodies back soon

I'd like to think our current game plan is dictated by the lack of props, but I'm not so sure it is! We pretty much know what Salford's game plan will be now in any case...

Dean Bell managed it in 1996. Admittedly he was a lot younger and had the less arduous task of playing in the backs. IIRC he put Golden in for a try.
