| To the list of great tries, I'd like to add one at Wakey, where he chipped and chased to score under the sticks.
He's been good for us. Shame to see him go.

| he's been a top quality wingman for us who has given great service and loyalty. I am pleased so many, the one obvious idiot apart, have recognised that on this thread.
I also know how valued he is by the squad and what an important teammate he is. That, as much as his efforts on the field will be badly missed. Unlike the other person some moron compared him with.

| I can't think of too many Leeds wingers I've rated more highly since I started watching.
Favourite try? Has to be the 07 Grand final. I also enjoyed the (last minute?) winner he scored at Odsal in the easter Friday game - same year I think. Two game breaking scores with plenty more to choose from. Very best of luck to him in the future.

| Are official announcements from Headingley HQ regarding one year contract extentions simply a code for follow-up announcements of a sudden departure nature?
Mentioning no obvious names of course.

Should Leeds release Greg to make him happy? In my opinion, no. It's time for greg to grow up a little bit, work through his personal issues and repay much of the commitment made to him over these last two years by the Rhinos.[i It also would set a very dangerous precedent for future antipodeans looking to wriggle out of lucrative Super League contracts[/i.'"
Spot on Gareth! I congratulate you on your perspicacity!

| Wasn't there a post on here that said Donald hadn't actually signed his contract? Is so you may have shot your load a bit too early Bill, something I am sure you're used to.

Official announcements from Headingley usually state that an employee AGREES to a contract extension rather than an employee SIGNS a contract extension.

Go figure.

Who would you have and where would Smithy play?'"
I'd sign someone - a specialist winger with experience and quality.
Smithy's useful to have around but he's no winger - he's not that quick and he's not a finisher. I'd keep him as a utility backup back - we have preferable players in all his positions.
Would be a shame for the lad but you shouldn't put him in the team just cos he's there.

"At the time, I signed my new contract, I was fully committed to the club but things have moved quickly in the last few weeks and I need to make sure that I take the options that are available to me at present because you never know whether they will be there in the future."
I've no great problem with him going back to OZ. Life is about family and making decisions, and that must be where his priorities lie. And as a bonus it'll free up a salary cap space. I'm just wetting myself at the queue of numpties, all misty eyed about our soon to be orft gingher, falling over themselves to recall an outstanding try. And there have been some outstanding ones in amongst the extremely average performances, but I suppose there's nowt so queer as folk!

| Scott Donald has being an absolute star for us over the years and it’s a shame that he’s had an injury plagued season in his last. I remember the WCC earlier in the year and we was all saying that if it was Scott Donald on the wing that night he’d taken chances that were bombed by the inexperienced Kallum Watkins.
My favourite Scott Donald try had to be the one against Castleford in 2008 which we lost 38 - 20. It all started from the scrum with Sinfield feeding Webb then Webb timing his pass to perfection to Scott Donald who ran down the touchline to score his 50th club try for the club.
It was just a perfect moment because it looked for all the world that Leeds where going to extend their unbeaten run from here on in . Unfortunately Joe Westerman scored a try three minutes after Scotts. After that try Castleford dominated the game in classy style.
Still it didn’t stop Donald from getting a hat trick. We may of lost that game but that first Donald try alone you can’t take that away from me! I felt that at the start of 2008 Leeds were playing there best rugby league since 2004.
Thanks for the memories Scotty

Life is pretty average but every now and again something spectacular happens. You’ve got to go through the average times to really appreciate the spectacular moments.

Yes, but Eastwood hasn't been a part of the Rhinos Family for long enough to have acquired a cringingly fawning and sweet-scented nomenclature like Scotty, Sinny, Mags, Keef, TMFMISL, etc, therefore the same rules do no apply
I like the Clampett's reference BTW. Be careful though, becuase there's a family of Rhinos ts lurking behind every corner.

Boo!
So IYO Scotty should be given the same treatment as Eastwood? You both keep saying the same sh*t but neither of you have give a reason as to why the circumstances are the same.

Some might be cruel and suggest his first effort at Castleford last Friday may suggest otherwise, although that for me was a rare occurrence as he became 'only' the third Leeds winger this season to forget the most important part of try-scoring.
__________
Donald was a good acquisition for Leeds at the time but ultimately his antipodean (probably post 2008 off quota) averageness blocked the path to 1st grade opportunities for a couple of Leeds Academy prospects which was a shame, IMO.
