Sometimes and hopyfully this is the case when jumping and landing on one leg and pushing off at the same time the ligaments over stretched and "twang" back.
I have seen this happen on a number of occassions and whilst painful so long as their is no rupture or tearing there is usually a full recovery.
Heres hoping for the best for the lad.

Maybe I should be a doctor. Poor lad, full knee reconstruction I'm guessing. Still, it's probably not career threatening like it would have been 10-15 years ago though.
