I never said we can't finish top 4. I said 4th at best. If you think we can finish higher now it's blind faith, and all that garbage about deriding the team is rubbish.

When you posted as "snake eater" you posted that Saints and even Wigan on occasion were the best teams in the league or that the "best team had lost" when we beat them.
Now i don't save past posts but i know what was said and at time we disagreed as did Tad and others that we didn't deserve the wins we had gained in some games.
You were clearly deriding the team when stating they hadn't deserved to win games whilst knocking one out over how others had played.
If you have "no faith" that's your problem but this squad(other than Delaney and Beastwood) has proven what it's capable of and i'm prepared to back it until it's mathmatically impossible for us not to finish higher than 4th.
You keep posting the "we can't do this or that" opinion that's not a problem at all just don't start giving it the "get real" and "it's impossible" garbage when others have the belief to back the squad.

Clarke was incredible yesterday.

I can't believe nobody on the commentary team pulled him on his "WIgan won't concede another point. They're too mentally tough" BS. Of course, he was wrong and his beloved invincibles did concede another point.

He'd declared WIgans as the best performance of the weekend and you could almost see the tear in his eye as Saints came out and bettered it.

Enjoy the bragging rights while they last FFS rather than being a killjoy all your life. Saints and other fans rubbed our noses in it for 30 years yet all you do when we have our moment is to play down our achievements. As it stands we don't look as good as previous seasons, no. But previous seasons should also tell you to just wait and see how things pan out first. Saints, Wigan and Warrington fans would be wise to do the same.

What is actually there is a bunch of fans who can't believe their team has performed the way it has over the last two matches. Most if not all Saints fans were expecting a mullering by you lot at Knowsley Road and we definitely did not expect to nil HKR - or anyone ever again. Our first half yesterday was played without one handling error and without one missed tackle. If we had converted all our tries, that first half would have been almost a technically perfect piece of RL AND beautiful to watch. Now there is no way I or most Saints fans would have believed that possible from Saints a couple of weeks ago. We were misfiring and had been for about 18 months, regardless of where we ended up in the league or that we stumbled to the GF thanks to a dodgy decision over a Longy haul into touch against Wigan.

The reason I said to back to back to back that the 'we beat you in three grand finals' just washes over our heads these days is because sometimes there are other things which are more important. And, just now, seeing my team perform in a way I was starting to think they never would makes me feel incredibly happy and I basically couldn't give a how many times you'd beaten us in a grand final. It no longer matters!

Isn't that nice? I think so.

The latitude afforded to St Helens at the play the ball by Bentham yesterday was alarming. Only the other week in their game at The Stoop we had James Childs correctly insisting on an attempt being made with the foot as the current interpretation requires. The refs need to be singing from the same hymnsheet and I much prefer the latter.

St Helens destroyed Hull KR off the back of the quickest play the balls seen for some time. That isn't rugby league at it's finest to me.

I'm firmly on the fence on that one. Two performances that resemble the Saints I know and love (whether they had been wins or losses) don't make a coach forgiven. Ask me again in a few months' time and I'll be able to hop off the fence on one side or the other.

You mean he dinged Leeds for not playing the ball correctly?

Very few SL players play the ball correctly. But personally I have no objection to that rule being enforced. Even if it had been yesterday, you would have still seen a quick PTB because both teams play that kind of RL. Justin Morgan has stated publically that he prefers two man tackles to gang tackles. Normally HKR play that kind of RL and can compete. But they are in a poor run of form just now and so although we played very well, we were made to look even better by HKR's poor performance.

As Leeds haven't played the Harlequins at the Stoop yet this season, I probably weren't referring to an incident/incidents involving my own club.

The game I had in mind was Harlequins V St Helens where James Child, correctly in my view, warned Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook on several occasions (including a final warning on the run) and then penalised him on his next play the ball. The integrity of the play the balls in that game involving St Helens was far higher than the one I witnessed yesterday controlled by Phil Bentham.

I'd like to see the officials (especially the so called full time ones in SL) giving a consistent interpretation in this area. The roll back with the hand and step over with the foot removes yet another basic skill from the game and helps to distort the fair balance between the attacking and defensive aspects of the game IMO.

The big problem with the play of the ball is it's inconsistent sometimes giving penalties sometimes complete ingnoring it. Same with 2 feet level with the ref. It always annoys me because there is no consistency even during games with these decisions

Why did this hurt your feelings so much? I never played down our performances. I praised saints, but then they were worthy of the praise at the time. This seemed to really upset you and other posters because you can't stop going on about it.
