Think the major difference is that we have more than adequate 'cover' if Buderus was to leave.
Who would we get to play centre next year for us, assuming that as widely rumoured Scott goes home and Smith takes his wing spot.

Why are you rolling your eyes at me you hormonal fool.
I asked a question as to whether Senior has gone from being touted as MOS to the trash can in less than 12 months. Rather than answer you've gone all weepy.
I'd be interested in you pointing me to where I said Senior should get a new contract. I'm firmly on the fence with this one.
I'd also be interested in where I've said youngsters are being held back by Buderus?

Mal Meninga. Hasn't played for a few years but he was fantastic in his day and would be a great signing.

Another major difference is Senior is an experienced Leeds Rhinos player, he has been working with the team for quite a few years now.

| Offcourse Senior has to have his contract extended, he is easily the best English centre in SL and in my opinion the best centre in SL. Him and Ali are the best attacking threat in SL.

It's not about doing no wrong it's about picking on certain players, something your lass pointed out on a previous thread. I personlly think buderus before he broke his leg was awesome, light years better than disco, not through lack of effort on discos part. Beds has started slower than post broken leg but would think he is still getting over it. I still think we have a great player who has by no means been crap for Leeds at any time he has been here, at least not to the point where fans want him ousted from the team and don't care about what happens to him.

If so who is to say that we have to let Buderus carry on for another year at one of our rivals in order not to risk upsetting/blocking McShane's first team chances.
I'm not saying it will or even should happen but whose to say the club might chose Buderus and McShane as our two pronged hooking strategy for 2011?? If so i'm sure it would cause a riot with many of the anti Buderus brigade on here'"
I can't see it happening. I think Buderus is still a better hooker than Diskin, regardless of whether he has recreated his NRL/Origin form. If it had to be one or the other for this season alone it would be Buderus for me. But beyond that he can only have a couple of years left at best, and a McShane/Diskin partnership is more than adequate (McShane having hopefully benefited from 2 years of Buderus' mentoring). The club has to think a bit more long term than just denying one of our rivals a year of Buderus' services.

for most of his 17 or so games up to his broken leg yes. we could have seen more of it if he wasn't on the side lines for half the match. that's not a pop at disco. I have always said I think Leeds are better with 1 hooker and 4 big lads on the bench. obviously the people who matter(Leeds coaching staff) don't agree. I think we will only see disco or more to the point beds at his best if he plays 80 mins.

I agree but playing Devils Advocate....if 2011 its Diskin and McShane then given Diskin appears to have several years left in him at the top then McShane would be second choice/reserve/back up/bench player whatever you would want to term it for a few more years.
IF however for arguments sake the club went with Buderus and McShane then as Danny has probably one more year in him before hanging up his boots and joining the coaching set up at the Knights then McShane (baring injury etc) would become 1st choice starting hooker in 2012.
So which is the best example of ''long term planning''?
If McShane is the long term hooker as most I'm sure at this moment in time would agree then the quickest way of him becoming 1st choice hooker would be giving Buderus 1 more year and not retaining Diskin?
As I said before I'm not advocating one over the other as Diskin has and still is a great servant to the club, just playing devils advocate.
All depends on peoples views as to when they would like McShane to get a regular starting spot.
What I think most would agree on is that keeping all three beyond this season could/would be a mistake unless McShane is the type of character to be prepared to have another season with little 1st team action in 2011 baring major injries to either/both Disko and Buderus and to bide his time a little longer.

That reads more like a statement than a question.
It's an interesting point. I just hope we get to see more of McShane at this level (either at Leeds (which won't be easy) or elsewhere in SL this season) before Diskin is allowed to leave the club in that scenario.

At least make an effort dude - if you're going to troll think of something original or at least put a new spin on an established theme – this is just poor, plain and simple.
Now try again but this time with some effort.

Sunday he was unplayable and if he can continue in that form and repeat the finish to last year then I don't care what the digits on his passport say, given him another year.
There are difference between the Senior and Buderus situation that any idiot should be able to see. Firstly, Senior will not take up a quota space, Buderus will.
Secondly, Senior has proven over many years to be the best in his position in this league, Buderus has not.
Finally, as has been stated, we have adequate cover in buderus' position and there are question marks over the cover in Senior's (Coady and Watkins).

That's a relief then.

Has Diskin? Not defending Buderus, he has been under par, came injured, then got another nasty injury, like I said i've seen better hookers in blue & amber win jack, better competition, worse team mates etc, Diskins come along in a golden era.
Buderus has not performed to his best, I also think he's a bit quick for some of those around him. Wonder if Diskin would be at his best between having a torn bicep & a broken leg in the space of a year?
