Thought Webb wasn’t that bad tonight – wee Rob on the other had hasn’t really kicked in so far this year, I’m sure he will but there just seems to be something missing from his game at present.

You’re thinking of Jedwood mate, but I can see how the confusion can happen.

I thought we saw 2 different sides to Webb tonight he looked great for his break in the 2nd half and some of his kick returns then on other occasions he looked slower than usual and not match sharp.
I really do think Burrow is way off and his confidence seems low and his passing looks laboured although he's not the only one hopefully he and the rest will be able to kick on and pick up their form and confidence after tonight.

Thought Webb went well tonight. It's true about Burrow though. McGuire is having to do all the work at the moment.

| Burrow hasn't shown his form for quite some while whilst Webb's attempt of a tackle on Gibson for his try was quite pathetic and he was caught in the dead ball area from been too slow and indecisive, ball in hand though he's looking fine, just again has lost the form of a couple of seasons ago due to his injury.
I'm sure Leeds will pick it up.

| Must've been watching a different game to some. Burrow was the most effective of the three pivots tonight and he wasn't great but we looked like a threat down the left with him.
McGuire was shocking and whilst Sinny's work rate was its' usual high standard he gave some dreadful passes.
Webb seemed to be trying too hard. He was everywhere and a very willing carrier but he "efforts" for the two tries and conceding possession twice through a penalty and knock on were poor.
JJB was, as usual, colossus. He seems to be getting back his Tony Smith form. Ran some brilliant lines, ran hard, was 1st on kick chase, 1st to drive it out and another great off-load for a try. Still, not good enough for some because of his facial hair.
What does Kirke bring to the side? I struggled to observe anything of note from him tonight and I include his try. His 2nd row display was Andy Hay-esque in the way he avoided the ball and as a prop he took the ball in with as much gusto as Chris Feather.
Diskin was, by far, the better of the two dummy halves, again, and I hope Bluey keeps starting him with Buderus off the bench.
I am really going to enjoy watching Eastwood play and I thought Watkins had some good moments. Is father time catching up with Senior or does he just need some sunshine on his old bones. All at sea in defence at times.
Ryan Hall worries me at the moment. Not defensively or fielding kicks but he is "soft" when driving the ball out and in the collision. He is running sideways too much and is shying away from contact.
All in all, a sloppy display again and things need to start clicking on attack, which I am sure they will.

| I enjoyed the game tonight. There seemed to be few errors and penalties (the later making a change ) and although we were very slack when passing the ball I enjoyed the contest.
Eastwood was my MoM but I agree JJB was very good. He takes some putting down and always seems to make 1 or 2 breaks a game.
Some s around me wouldn't stop slating him for being too "greedy" though. Idiots. The same s were also slating Kallum down all game too. It really peeves me off when people pay good money and all they do for 80 minutes is moan about anything. One guy looked unhappy when Senior got his 2nd because he couldn't moan that we'd blown another chance. He still tried though by saying it was lucky that it bounced off Halls hands
some people ay.

| Can't agree with G1 re burrow me and my merry band see him as the weak link in attack he is a shadow of the player he was, mcguire keeps getting better burrow has gone backwards. jjbs effort is awesome but he needs to smarten up, put through the gap by mcguire but didn't even look to put watkins in who would have had a clear stroll to the line, a simple pass across his body from left to right would have done it. Eastwood showed him how it was done at the end who is a beast! I love watching him play! we didn't play well but won! if I'm sure of one thing it's that the boys are working their balls off to put it right! If that means doing it tough then that's what they will do, that's why we are champions!

Re-Burrow mate there were times when the player carrying the ball in Ali,Bailey and Beastwood(like the nickname?) looked on their shoulder for the off-load and Burrow was next man in he was too far back and had stopped!
I agree completely with everything else and the Sinfield off-load looking for Hall who wasn't there after the run around with Beastwood was very poor.
Like you i also think it will click in attack and the discipline was a massive improvement but i also think that both teams were guilty of ptb infringements which brought penalties against us last week.

| jjb was supurb and i thought webb went ok. the in goals were 3-4" in sand so its no wonder he got trapped in there.
i thought watkins was poor myself. buderus i rated last night, good distribution and played a key role in webbs try.
peacock was immense, esp in his first spell

| I'm sure most things will click. I'd like to see Burgess be part of this rotation, he's only played once this season hasn't he? How do you think they'll work the wingers and centres next week if donald is out?

They could recall Bjb for the wing spot and keep Watkins at centre, use a Back-rower at Centre and stick Watkins on the Wing or Keep Watkins at centre and call up one of the youngsters for the Wing spot probably Tom Bush.
There's also the option of bringing Coady in but i doubt it given who we are playing and Coady's lack of RL in general.

Gareth - I cannot agree with everything here - for me both Sinfield and Burrow were attrocious on the night - at least McGuire did things at pace - Sinfield was so slow - that inside pass is so easy to defend and Burrow can pass a ball to a team mate at the moment.
Agree re Buderus, Diskin, Watkins and JJB who I thought was close to MOM. Eastwood looks like a podgy SBW very impressive addition. Kylie was also very good especially his first stint.
The player we really disagree about is Hall who I thought had an excellent game - my MOM but there you go

My criticism of Hall is isolated to one particular area of his game at the moment and its' just how meekly he is taking the ball into the collision or, sometimes, avoiding the collision.

| Quote ="G1"Really? Other than gifting Broughton his try what did McGuire do?
Other than having a hand/foot in 3 of our 4 tries what did Burrow do wrong?'" Mcguires passing is crisper, mcguire can put a man through the gap which he has added to his game. Mcguire attacks the line, beats players and makes brakes. burrows passing seems in effective, he doesn't beat the man and unlike mcguire burrow doesn't really have an off load. the kicks for the trys are important as you say. but I think we need more from burrow as our 7 with ball in hand and running play. I think rob hasn't been at his best since 07 we see glimpses but nothing to suggest he
is a better player, where mcguire improves as a player every season that's where my comments come from. I love burrow as a player and I want him to become the best 7 in the comp again but for me it's just not happening for rob!
Re mcguire and dropping the bomb. mcguire is probably the most safe player we have taking the high ball! He does it all night every game from the kick off, he catches running bombs on the move re the Catalan try. everyone makes mistakes I think it's unfair to hammer mcguire for one, IMO it wasn't even mcguires ball to take Webb as the fullback should have bossed the situation. But it was a daft try to conced. A bit of a comedy of errors. as you say we all see the game different
