I'm in Orlando at present and there was a family at dinner tonight with 2 kids, one of whom had a l**ics shirt on. I asked if they were from Wigan - the answer was "no, from Kirkby but it's cheaper to support Wigan than Liverpool....next question was "which stand do you sit in at the JJB? - answer "oh, we don't go to many matches"....meaning "WE DON'T GO!"

FFS - Wigan Athletic only charge £250 for an adult season ticket in any of the 3 home stands (kids are either virtually free or free) and still get a sheeeiiite crowd! I've got mates who go to watch Leeds Utd from Wigan and pay 3 times that per season ticket!

Personally, I can't wait for the day when a rich (well in Wigan Athletic's case, not too rich!) middle eastern consortium buy that sheeiite little club and relocate it to a more deserving town/city - their 'fans' from Kirkby, St Helens & Skem can then start watching Liverpool & Everton again!

Wouldn't you say it was not the club that some Rhino's hate but the small number of nob-head fans at LUFC? It is very rare I come across a Rhino's fan who hates LUFC, only if they are perhaps not from Leeds and support a different football team anyway.

Of course the biggest base of LUFC fans that do not live in Leeds come from the Wakefield district, but you can sort of understand that given that until recent years Wakefield was on the 'City' not to have a football league side and the one they have now was stolen from the Huddersfield area!

I know quite a few people have a laugh about Wakey and Cas fans, singing we all hate Leeds in their LUFC shirts, but as the most local Football League side I am glad they go with a local team and not MUFC!!!

I assure you this Warriors/Latics rivalry did not exist 10/15 years ago but has only come about recently due to all the Liverpool/United fans swapping allegiance and supporting Latics. 15 years ago Latics average attendance was 1,500. Its a shame but what else do you expect when all their fans are from the scouse side of town such as St Helens/Skelmersdale way.

having lived in Skem for 23 years I can't think of one Latics fan that I know from here yet I know of plenty (too many!) Warriors fans. Most local football fans here are Liverpool/Everton (which considering the history of the town is understandable)

Same here, having lived in Skem 25 yrs, you never saw a Latics top around the Concourse but as soon as they were promoted, they all came out the wood work. Its all Liverpool, Everton and Utd before that.

You gotta love 'em. I actually wanted WAFC to do well in the Prem when they came up - but then their cocky arrogance surfaced and they thought they could dictate. Wigan is a RL town and forever will be a RL town.

The actual answer is no. Away fans sit in the North Stand as per the rugby, and have done for the last 4 years.

They'll also need less dolls than Wigan RL to fill the stadium.
