christopher - I'm no SL apologist. The gap between SL and NRL is very large. The gap looks even bigger when you take a look at standards in 'second tier' compas such as the Queensland Cup. But the gap is not as big as that gbetween say the NBA and any other domestic basketball comp in the world.

Just signed upto that AussieSportTV (all games for £7.50 a month online! Better than that scam Setanta are pulling) and watched Tanseys 6 minutes. He missed a block that led to a try and then was one of the players in an offside position that led to the equalising penalty.

Also watched the Wests - Storm game! What a cracker that was. Ellis was outstanding apart from his early missed oportunity when he came back inside as a try was begging. Hit hard and ran harder. Only Wests 10 was a better forward IMO.

As for the standard of the 2 leagues. The NRL has improved a lot this year and speed of the game has overtaken us with the 2 refs. Much better than what I watched last season (although there were a few decent ones). IMO it is £7.50 well spent.

Don't forget Gareth Ellis getting into the 'team of the week' or whatever it's called twice in a row!

I'd say that's dubious, I don't think Tansey is the sort of player that would be caught offside. Ask the Bulls fans

Got 75mins today aganist the dragon's. Had a good game as well. Good under the high ball. Backed up well and showed a good step. Seemed to get a bit tired at the end and missed a couple of tackles. But that's probably understandable due to his lack of games. It would have been a good game as well if the Roosters had any idea in attack.

Apart from the two missed tackles at the end where it was clear he was struggling with cramp, I thought Tansey was the Roosters best player.

I agree and with no disrespect to Tansey, that's probably why the Roosters were so $hit. That a young English kid with virtually no NRL experience can come on and be their best player, means the rest of them should have a long hard look at themselves.

Having said that. Most teams are going to struggle to stop Soward at the moment. He is immense.

Iosia Soliola doesn't appear to have much of a problem playing this season at the Roosters either. It's a pity the 'injury' prevented him coming to Leeds.
