Injury excuses or not the club needs to be honest with the fans. To constantly name players in 19 who have no chance of playing and then see a bench of kids isnt fair. If Burrow Garbutt Delaney and Falloon was never going to play dont name them.

No mention of why Garbutt didnt play but McD said Burrow was injured last week and only a slight chance next week so why name him and not name Hallas and Briscoe in 19???

Cuthbertson can play anywhere in the pack so why not? We have Walters, Achurch, Ferres also in the 17 too, and no matter if you rate them or not they are considered top 25 players and should be able to 'do a job' in circumstances like this at least.

The injuries are horrendous and there's no getting away from that, as such you can accept some poor performances. However regardless of results the 17 on the pitch and coach should be performing to their potential regardless of those missing more often than not and that's simply not happening.

I'm seeing Cuthbertson being named in the pack here but when I do my unofficial starting position spreadsheet I think he's going in at stand off, with McGuire at scrum-half and Lilley at hooker. Bearing in mind I feel obliged to name two starting half-backs and a hooker, not sure there's a more accurate interpretation.

Injuries play a major part in both short term and long term performance of sports teams. Unfortunately for Rugby League players, any innate physical weakness will ultimately affect their wellbeing playing at the top level of our sport. The 5 year deal given to Delaney was one of the worst decisions made by our club management. We didn't need the benefit of hindsight to realise this, he was continually injured before the deal was on the table. Basing so many of our hopes on the likes of Magsy and JJB is also naive to say the least, their historical injury woes have been well documented. I personally think our club is struggling not just because of injuries, I have to say we are the slowest, least fit and physically weakest team in Superleague. This is not necessarily the fault of every player. They don't put themselves in the team, they are not offering themselves contracts, and they can't change their basic body shape, speed or resilience. They are playing for Leeds because they have been chosen, that is entirely a management issue. For me our back row forwards sum up our physical weakness perfectly, slow, lacking in agility and unfortunately injury prone. While most teams have back rowers that can bust a hole and go half the length of the field, we have a unit that would struggle to even run half the length of the field. While I have up to this point not singled out individuals, there is a lot of players in our team that individually and collectively do not fit the criteria as top Superleague players. Name me one back rower that could chase back 50 yards to save a try and I will present you with a large hold-all filled with gold sovereigns in the middle of the pitch before our next home game.

When is Singleton going to learn you can't shoulder charge anymore? Something he's been pinged for, or lucky to get away with on some occasions, numerous times.

Injuries can explain getting beaten, but not abject performances both with and without the ball over a long period of time. They weren't a valid excuse for the pathetic displays against KR or Cas at home or Wigan at MM.

Read in Yorkshire evening post that our injuries update is like this Burrow and Sutcliffe should definitely be back, Falloon is injury free but working on fitness, Moon,Ablett,Delaney,Garbutt all two weeks away, Hall and Briscoe at least another month, also Mullally suffered dislocated finger at magic weekend but is fit to get play.

Yeah forgot about Ward he's been out for such a long time

Lets be honest any "update" should be taken with a huge pinch of salt given injured players getting named in the19 on a regular basis.

Yeah the physio tweeted a picture yesterday of Ward back running on a treadmill so that's a good step in the recovery.

Way he was limping around last week, Mid July looks very optimistic.
