Leeds have managed to keep so many players together over the years, something has got to give sooner or later. Most will feel they've been there and done it and you cannot blame any of them for wanting a different challenge. Sinfields GF speach ( G1s sig) was probably very true, most will sacrifice a few quid for those special nights but after you've got 4 GF winners rings and had those wonderful experiences surely some of them will think its time to grab that few extra quid before they retire.

Rob is in contract till end of 2013, which means he must be unhappy or decided that he wants more money than he has already agreed with Leeds. So how much will we ask for him from Cas and can they afford it? If you were GH how much would you put Rob on the market for, £150k, £200k, £250k? I think the likelihood of contracted players (except Aussies going back to NRL) leaving for another SL club is slim... but I could be wrong?

I heard a rumour today from a very reliable source that somebody who turned down £60k/year and went elsewhere for £100k/year would take a pay cut to come to Leeds .
Also heard a rumour about the coaching staff at Cas changing , and a mate of mine (an ex-player elsewhere) might be getting a rather high profile job there .

Just rumours of course though .

burrow going to cas? would he take that much of a step back would belive it more if it was going to a club challenging for trophies but that is ridiculous

Not quite, Orr is earmarked for hooker and halfback cover but with Mathers and Owen onboard next season the clever money is on McGoldrick to partner Chase in the halves.

Regarding Burrow, like Ellis he is a Cas lad and that always seems to have been enough to spark rumours of us signing them at some stage. However unlike Ellis I understand Burrow has no desire to join his hometown club and never has.....I've heard talk of Loiner or Flat Capper genes somewhere down the family line.

Players quite often aim to try and play for the club they supported growing up should they eventually turn out to be good enough to do so.

That's what Rob Burrow went on to do.

These days almost everybody in Cas (and Fev) has Pontefract on their birth certificate as that is where the only local maternity hospital has been since the early 70's. Loads of Cas kids play for the Lions and loads of Fev kids play for Lock Lane....your point being?
