I have no idea if he did, i thought he was out for the knee injury he suffered during the play offs end of last year. If he did, that explains it.

Watch it back mate, Worthington is locked by two tacklers and Stationery, JJB is round the back and wraps a leg round then his other whilst leaving the ground jumping down and buckling worthingtons legs under with all his body weight. Looked bad and wasn't needed to be honest.
like i said, i'm sure it wasn't intended to injure the player, but no need for it.

Unfortunately it's another "technique" that needs banning quickly.
I haven't seen it again but from what I saw at the time and how others have described it it sounds like a scissors tackle in football but with the addition of dragging the man to the ground.
We have no need for this in the sport, all this does is increase the likelihood of injuries.
IIRC Danny Brough did a couple of reckless examples of this against us in the game last season that very much risked injury.

| in fairness to JJB, it looked like Worthington was turned by the other players in the tackle rather than himself and i think thats what caused the problem. It didnt seem particularly bad or out of the ordinary in and of itself, but became so as Worthington was moved around and twisted by the others.
Its a weird one because its obviously not needed and it would be better without those types of tackle in the game, but its also a very fine and complex line with a lot of grey areas to judge it on so i dont know how you legislate against it because id bet a pound to a penny that if Worthington gets up, game goes on and nobody even remembers that tackle

| As fans we see things with bias, for example I saw Leeds control the ref very well both on and off the pitch, that wouldn't have happened at LSV. I am sure Leeds fans think differently but it was interesting to see Silverwood basically say the same via Twitter
Love going to Leeds, despite the shocking traffic from off the motorway and the crazy traffic lights letting only a few cars through, must find a better route next year. 15000 on a Thursday for a second tier game was brilliant and no issues anywhere, great fans and look forward to a closer encounter next year.

| Have to say on last nights showing Leigh were poop and would get battered if they played like that every week. Have to assume they just choked for some reason (also not a good sign).
I was most disappointed with their style of play though. High shots all over, slowing the game down, shuffling back about 7 yards. Fair enough, the red let them get away with it but they won't get such a cowardly red every week.
Lots of work needed in the off season, and that's just to keep Smith and Hock away from the pie trays.

To be fair, we did what we needed to do against the other 3 SL teams. Last night was a dead rubber, and the players looked knackered.
I'm sure Neil Jukes and the team look forward to the challenge next season. I know us fans are excited about what lies ahead

And I am an advocate of promotion and relegation so while you will be one of the favourites for the bottom 4 I hope you don't finish bottom. On last nights performance though your attitude was more championship than SL and you need to fix that.

Our last nights performance is irrelevant,it's what we've achieved that matters,SL next year.
We will build the team, and try to sustain SL status, but owt can happen.
Your whole season's attitude was more championship than SL, that's why you were in the middle 8s. And if you don't buck your ideas up next season, you could find yourselves back there again.
FWIW - I don't think Leeds will be anywhere near favorites for any silverware next year, neither will Leigh.

| The majority of the Leigh fans were absolutely buzzing last night and good on them as they realised that their SL dream had come true
Although the minority of Leigh fans that I saw around the cricket field prior to the game were a right bunch of arrogant and over confident ale'd up chav's. who looked like they were primed for some fisty cuffs,Lets hope that they don't tarnish the clubs reputation in SL next season
Watching Leigh last night reminded me of watching local amateur Sunday morning pub rugby in years gone by as Leigh were very grubby and ill disciplined
If they don't sort this out then they will be in for a hard time in SL next season
Their derby games against Wigan next season could be a free for all 80 minute brawl

Correct we won't win anything next season and nor will you
Nor will some other sides for that matter irrespective of how much that club spends on recruitment
I await the day that any SL side during the salary capped era can actually win 3 GF's in a row or do the ultimate treble of winning all 3 trophies again

And then end up in the middle 8s the following season.

| Although it was bad last night I don't ink their discipline has been as bad under Neil Jukes. Still a team with plenty of Paul Rowley signings who seem to be the worst culprits. Even though they worked together Jukes is a different personality (seems a very sound nice guy) compared to the arrogant style of Rowley. The signings a coach makes often show a side of him (McDermott with workhorse guys, Wane with passionate Wigan guys). With Jukes only taking over just before the season started then he's got to build his own team and yet to be seen if those worst offenders with stay with a different type of player/attitude being developed over time.

| Credit where due, thought Leeds did really well last night given first 13 picked themselves and short turnaround from Sunday.
In the last game and half think Golding has looked sharper on attack than in past, as others have pointed out plenty of work to do with his defence.
Bit of food for thought, the 12 in front of him played almost whole game until sutcliffe's injury got better of him and despite him starting injured, those 12 were perhaps most athletic and strong in defence a group as has played all year.
Moon and Sutcliffe in halves means you don't need to play hide the half.
Appreciate other limitations and not suggesting is the answer. However, I think moon is a better player than many halves mentioned on these threads that we may want to get.
Hull play Carlos, no.3 at stand off, he strikes me as very similar to Moon, although I reckon moon is a better RL player. At end of next year McGuire will retire, I think moon will be one of our halves by 2018 if not playing there next season with McGuire.
If we can't get a quality half in for next year and as others have said it won't be easy, I could see us going with Sutcliffe at FB, Jimmy k at 4 , moon and McGuire in halves, burrow reserve hooker, lilley reserve half.
Time will tell. Most of the range of Aussie halves In SL are either injury prone or nutty as a fruitcake or both.
A player with top class kicking range would be ideal but not from the limping, Binge drinking club.
Will uncle gary release the moths from the wallet of doom?

Fallon, would you like to comment on our performances in our 3 victories over Salford, Hull KR & Huddersfield. ?
If I was to judge Leeds Rhinos after their 58-12 thrashing at Widnes earlier this season, I would have said that you were 'Championship One standard'. But what do I know ?

Sure thing. I didn't watch them. I did watch last nights game so I commented about that as I can only comment on what I've seen.
For what it's worth I understand you have played well in the middle 8s and your scorelines suggest an exciting brand of rugby. Last night though you were awful and I was expecting more rugby and less gamesmanship.
As for your widnes comment, as it turns out if you'd judged us on that you would have been right. 90% of our season has been awful. Draw your own conclusions about what that says of the quality of the middle 8s.

| I would have been dissapointed and frustrated as a Leigh, fan. You are capable of playing some top class rugby, but Thursday seemed more interested in making it scrappy at knocking ten bells out of Leeds. As well as whinging at the ref. Now part of this is personell, part of it is being a winning team where you get more leeway from the refs. If you can focus more on the good side of your game I bet fans from both Leigh and their opposition would be a lot happier.

| I'm sure Leigh were going out to win the game, but looked to me like a team that had run out of steam, which isn't a surprise. I didn't expect them to have their promotion wrapped up with a game to go so well done. I think that lead to a lot of the niggle because they were cooked. People are reading too much into this game. It was a dead rubber and our extra quality shone through. The the Leigh fans mocking us for being in the middle 8's...we know it's been a bad year. But don't disregard what this club has achieved. In the grand scheme of things, this has to be our come down season after being high for so long. And I'll take all those trips to Wembley and Old Trafford for a year of below standard performances
