Would be very dissapointed if it is. Personally don't want to sign him, but also I would hardly describe him as a massive signing who will excite the Leeds fans. I for one would be underwelmed. Not a big signing.

I agree with you! I only mentioned Williams as he's the only NRL name that's been linked to us.

Ditto. No good will come of signing another threequarter when the pack gets steamrollered against quality opposition and the half backs are too slow/incapable of getting the ball to the outside danger men

Whoever comes in needs to be an improvement imo and for me that has to be in the pack first and foremost with Prop and BR for me.

For how many years have we had "Prop" as top of the supporters wish list? Yet in the last couple of years we've signed 3 or 4 and had 3 or 4 leave and still we have Bailey, Peacock and Kylie there. My count now we have 6 senior props - Kirke, Kylie, Griffin, Peacock, Bailey and Moore.

I don't think JP can carry us any longer ,kirke imo should be released as should Kylie that leaves Moore who's in and out irrespective of performance,Griffin and Bailey with JP on his last knockings.
It seems Singleton and D.Smith won't be getting a sustyained run in the side anytime soon.
So for me an impact prop is needed as is a replacement for Ali.
The out-side backs are fine imo and IF we promote from within when Webby departs i still think we have enough depth with the likes of Watson ,Keinhorst and Chisolm awaiting their chances.
I just think the Pack needs "Freshening up" and performances thus far haven't caused me to change that view do you think we have enough quality there DHM?

Absolutely no idea.

I am pretty dissapointed with the forwards that we have had come through within the club in recent seasons. We haven't really produced a first team forward bar the now fringe player Clarkson, for some years. We had two pretty good young props at the club, one went to Bradford and one went to Australia, we have two hookers who are deemed not good enough and are farmed out on loan while we loan one from Huddersfield and that's about it. The forwards we've signed have hardly been fantastic quality either, the best of the bunch being Delaney who we origianlly signed as a centre. Griffin, Hauraki, Lunt, Moore, Cross - hardly sets the moth watering does it? Buderus aside (who if we're honest wasn't desperately needed when we signed him), we've not improved upon the 2007 pack, and most of those guys are still puffing away each week.
You can't expect to produce a pack a year, but we do seem to have a very poor pipeline in tat regard.

Do we need to freshen up the forwards - absolutely - but we won't do it quickly with one or two average signings . In the days I started watching the game it was acceptable to have an A team packed with experienced journeymen forwards, I'm a little baffled now why we have what looks like a 1980"s A team pack on the books taking up cap space. We've had a lot of recent success, and I don't think Leeds fans would be particularly bothered if we spent a couple of seasons winning nowt but have a few quality players and give some of the next generation a chance to come through and establish themselves building a team like we did 10 years ago.

FWIW i'd happily take 1/2 or even 3 yrs trophy-less to get some our potential youngsters settled into their positions that's part of the reason i admired the job Darryl Powell did i know that batch of youngsters were "elite" but we still have some who are very very good imo and deserve a run in the 1st team.

I cannot understand why the recent [uproven[/u route (after so many frustrating barren years of trying to buy in success/use well known 'name' players) is not being heeded now.

I too would accept a couple of definite years with no trophies if it meant a stronger youthful team offering more chance of competing in 2015 onwards.
