If I can add something, when recruiting players, a leader is needed in my opinion.
Clearly a good coach will make a difference but Leeds look rudderless to me.
It doesn't have to be a young guy for the future, just someone who can lead the team until the recruitment is sorted.
Non of the senior players have the leadership side of the game so it needs to be brought in.

It would be impossible to get rid of everyone who needs to go

Hanley and Briscoe are not great wingers
Hurrell is decent but Makes lots of errors wouldn’t be upset if he left with the money he is on is freed up
Lolohia needs sacking
Myler crap
Sutcliffe crap as half or back row
Singleton Crosby Albert, cuthbertson need to go
Ablett, JJB, Ferres, all poor
Cam smith is popular on here but he’s been poor whenever he gets a chance
Merrin again a plodder but decent again wouldn’t be too bothered if he left

To be fair to some of the younger players like Cameron Smith (and Walker), they are supposed to be learning to get better, from playing regularly and alongside more experienced players. Instead they are being sucked into the mire of mediocrity by us having basically half a team of duffers and no halfbacks.

I think this year we've been so terrible that we need to be imaginative in terms of the squad going forward. If cleaning the place out means having some of our cap spent on players on loan elsewhere sobeit. The bad influences have to be got rid of regardless of cost, and the utterly useless as well. Get them away from the club and focus on the juniors. That means accepting that next season will again be a struggle, but if its a struggle where our juniors are getting experience and actually competing then it will be better in the long run than another season of this garbage.

Over the last couple of seasons several players consistently fail. What’s bewildering is the fact that they are still played on a regular basis. Presumably the coaching staff believe in miracles ,because I can’t see any evidence or prospect of things changing .

Pure speculation, but if were relegated and all contracts are voided I'd only look at trying to retain Walker, Newman, Oledski, Holroyd, Trout and Johnson. The rest can do one.

You will probably find those are the ones though that the other clubs want.

Hurrell would be great value if you paid for RL players by the kilo. Needs a rocket up his @r$e and many, many salads.

If you recall when Hurrell arrived he was used successfully wide out twenty to thirty yards from the opposition try line. At Bradford he seem to be trying to punch up through the middle of the line. That may well be the result of our powder puff forwards ambling around.

It's been said on here already but I don't think there is anyone with any credit left in the bank and I can't actually say I'd be hugely disappointed about anyone leaving. The whole attitude of the squad stinks and I think a lot of them have believed their press and that things will jut magically turn around for them.

Not to single him out because I think he's probably way down the list of priorities to sort out but Ash Handley giving it the beans down the camera after scoring against Cas was cringeworthy. I'd like to have seen someone grab hold of him and tell him to get a grip and get his head on the game but I think that's exactly the type of player we are missing...

Sutcliffe mentioned after he scored against Hull in the eliminator at Headingley in 2017 he got a bit carried away and Ryan Hall came and grabbed him and told him to calm down and get on with his job. Now Hall wasn't really known for his leadership qualities but what I'd give for someone that would do that right now!

Whilst I sort of understand people saying "he's cheap so keep him" is exactly the type of thinking that got us into this mess. Of course you're going to need a mix and those lower paid players are worth their weight in gold as we have seen over the years but we're past worrying about them and need to get in some real quality then go from there. For me and given they're clearly not up to the mark, there is no one who falls into the "cheap" category I'd be going out of my way to keep. I appreciate building a squad is a little more complex/involved than my black and white view btw...

I'd keep Donaldson based on what I've heard about his attitude and commitment to training. He'd be a squad man but it looks like this squad needs a change of attitude and with the right leaders in there, someone like him could be good for the transition of the kids coming in

Really only the prospects are safe for me the rest are fair game and i wouldn't care if any of them were moved on. First of all we need to find out which of these players want to stay and fight for the badge because on current evidence it doesn't seem like many.

No room for sentiment or "he's cheap" keep him options.
The squad should be supported by the u19's/reserves not poundland back ups with a good attitude.

The only two on that list I would dispute is Donaldson for his commitment and decent enough back up forward and possibly Parcell unless we can get better before Johnson gets up to speed.

I think you have got good backs. And some good young forwards. I think you need let one of the hookers go and bring in somebody that can dictate play from dummy half.

I admit I’ve not seen much of Leeds this season
To me the entire team looked unfit. I don’t know if it’s an issue with the conditioning coaches not being good enough or the players just going through the motions because of deeper issues within the club

It's time to say goodbye to Ward, another one who is never fit, plays one game misses three games on average, simply not up to the task of SL, how can anyone even think about giving him another contract. He's bust

And Crosby, Ablett, JJB , sick notes the lot of them no wonder JJB keeps playing he has never played more than half a season at any one time.
What a mentor, play injured and come back for the last 6 games, you watch they will all be playing again come the end of August

Disagree with this, he’s been unlucky but he’s still young, look at Currie at Wire should they have got rid of him?

Seems like Currie is bust again, another 2 months out of the game
