Cunningham for me in his prime has to be the most dangerous person within the red zone ive seen, awsome player

Sounds wierd but i would have love to have seen him play at another club just to see if he could do it other than with Saints players

He has been past it for at least the last couple of years, and I cant understand why Saints fans see him as so important now.

That said, I think previous to this, Cunningham is arguably the best player seen in the Super League era. Certainly from a British point of view.

But players do come to the end of their careers and he is.

Cunningham is a very limited player who has benefited greatly from British Rugby league in the SL era having an obsession with speedy PTB's and turning Rugby league into some ised form of basketball.

He's played in a very successful Saints side and on the back of that his limited talent of quick scooting from dummy half has proven very, very successful.

He does not have the skill set and talent of a true Sl great like Andy Farrell.

His limited abilities have also been shown up on the international stage, when he's been "fit" to play.

Previously I felt that you generally were being a deliberate wind up and just being defensive against all but Leeds supporters in general.

It should have ended his career, but as it did'nt meant he had to remodel his game.

Cunningham's function to Saints is vital. He schemes around the ruck and ability to give the scrun half top distribution at all times is important. His tackling will be sorely missed when he leaves the Saints team.

Here goes. I will only post this as I am always reluctant to get into a player argument, it is simply too subjective but in this case, it is just a ridiculous post that G1 made and one I can't help but think must be some form of fishing.



Cunningham is the exact reason that the quick scoot from dummy half became the focal point of play in the UK in the previous 15 years. In the last 5 years or so he rarely scoots anymore yet is still the most important player at the club and captaining us to final after final. He directs the side from acting half without scooting and puts players through gaps week after week. His vision with the ball is second to none, shown with the number of tries he creates with a simple pass. Defensively as well he is our most important player.



He is the main reason we have been 'very successful'. It is on the back of Cunningham creating the momentum from dummy half that we invariably capitalise.



This must be a wind up sentence.



Injuries have limited his international career. Still however the Australians (including your own Mr Buderus, Gordon Tallis, Wayne Bennett etc) have all commented on his brilliance and his position at the pinnacle of the hooking role in world rugby.

Superleagues greatest player ever, even better than old sparrow legs himself. Cunningham has forgotten more about rugby than half the leeds team will ever know.

Cunningham is probably still the best hooker in the league. At his prime he was practically unplayable. It's a shame that he never went to Australia or proved himself on the international stage, because it's plain to see he had the talent to succeed.
