Smith has been here a year, he was brought in to oversee a change, that won’t happen in a year, basically short term thinking will get us nowhere, let Smith do the job he was employed to do.

An endless merry go round of coaches is not what we need.

I would however be happy to see a DOR come in.

Putting the game to one side I don’t think JJB or Peacock should do media work whilst being employed by Leeds. They should be told it’s one or the other.

Having someone on the Leeds board spouting off in public is unacceptable IMO.

Although we do need more quality we have enough to be winning more than we are. Problem is playing your decent players out of position and being too stubborn to change. If we had swapped robbers and tindal early on when he was having a shocker and moved olpherts into the we would have won that. Add in endless dumb play and you don't deserve to win. Errors happen but consistent crap comes down to management

Think that is a decent idea, perhaps the signing we really need is Ian Blease or Mike Rush or even Danny McGuire.

Maybe Smith is more suited to a DOR role.
At the moment he's struggling with the coaching side.
Rarely have we looked like a well coached side.
Even in the 2 or 3 good halves we've played it's generally been off the cuff stuff.
Most of the time we look disorganised, incoherent and devoid of any plan or leadership.
All down coaching unfortunately.

I think he gets this year to get the squad he wants for next year much like Powell at Wire this year, next year is Smith’s real test.

whilst i agree Christopher, if the rest of this season is poor, and next starts in the same vein, you're back to another coach coming in during a season with somebody else's players.

Agree. Even though performances have been in and out and we have lost more than we've won the only drubbing we've suffered was at Wire. Generally the trigger for a change of coach is a series of beatings and that just hasn't occurred. Also the level of impatience/hostility to the coach that is generated on this forum is not reflected on the terraces. They got a standing ovation at the end of the Saints game. Hetherington will care about what paying spectators think rather than noise on social media type platforms, and so he should. All that being said - the pressure is on in terms of A) Starting to announce major recruitment for next year sooner rather than later B) Starting very strongly next year. Fail on either of those and alarm bells will be ringing.

And if he starts next year on fire then it means were further down the road than if we changed coaches this year.

If we end this season near the bottom 3 then Rohan should go and GH and co spend all off-season looking for a replacement. His coaching levels are way off what was touted and all I've heard is Tony's nephew this and that, that doesn't always mean Tony's coaching skills rubs off on family members. I can't see Danny McGuire coming back to Leeds in amanagement role, not any time soon anyway.

The most disappointing thing about this years performances, is that it comes on the back of how well he did last season with a weaker squad. Yes the squad needs strengthening and we have injuries but the quality of cohesion in attack is terrible and has been pretty much all season. Smith takes responsibility for that.

I don’t think it’s heloed that we have had no consistency in the halves (or elsewhere for that matter) with our injuries.

that doesn't help cohesion but I'm yet to see what heis trying g to achieve, how he wants to play, a style of play. he certainly doesn't improve players individually.

Cam Smith, Holroyd, Oconner and macdonnel have all improved under Rohan Smith.

Personally I can see what he’s trying to do, im not sure he has the players especially in the halves to do it yet.

As I say next year is his real test.

Fair enough but I don’t think the club will see it that way, especially with the injuries we have.

If we do lose, i do think he’ll be getting a serious word from the club though.

Playing to potential compared to other sides, which is true but for mine you are either in the tent p1ssing out or outside p1ssing in. Not right him and JP want to do both
