I don't know where you were sitting but you could do with a new pair of glasses. You obviously missed his 40 tackles in between tying his shoelaces. Leeds lost because of 20 handling errors none of them by JJB. We also made 39 missed tackles with Briscoe and Sutcliffe's woefull efforts resulting in two tries and 12 points.

What's funny nothing has changed has it?
We still lack quality recruitment we still have players way past their best or not good enough taking up SC space & despite his pre-match comments once again the Coach & his team fail against Cas & DP.

This is a poor side - defend it all you want - as the above poster said they missed nearly 40 tackles and dropped the ball 20 times. Perhaps you enjoy watching "elite athletes" fail to do the basics to me that is a disgrace.

JJB and McGuire are senior players - one gives away penalties at such regular intervals you wonder why he isn't being coached to suggest their is a better way and the other is swearing at the ref - what example does that give to the younger players?

The biggest attendance of the year and Leeds play as badly as they have all year. Without Cas gifting Leeds two tries they didn't look like scoring all night.

Cas were the best side on the night and played the conditions and the ref much better than Leeds did. We made 20 handling errors, many early in the tackle count, while Cas made just 9. They also made fewer missed tackles (11) than Leeds (39) and they made more offloads (13) to our (5). This meant they made around 50% more carries and metres than Leeds and 126 fewer tackles.

While penalties were shared equally Cas did get away with a lot of laying on in the tackle and quite blatant offside which led to some of our indiscipline and frustration.

There was no lack of effort from Leeds but our terrible ball control cost us any chance of winning the game aided by two crucial individual missed tackles and a bad ref.

Not quite so full of yourself tonight - no doubt you will find an excuse for why Cas were lucky once again to beat Leeds for the 7th time on the trot pfft!!

Good job it rained and Cas. played Sunday giving Leeds an additional two days rest



It isn't getting beaten Cas are a better side at the moment it is the dreary nature of the play. Last night Cas threw the ball around moved it - each player knew where they needed to be to fit the set plays. Leeds on the other hand just played one man rugby through - what must be - the slowest set of forwards in the league. This team has no pace anymore - Hardaker slowed down before he waltzed past Sutcliffe.

poor recruitment, poor coaching, poor players.
everyone from GH down shouldn't be exempt from criticism.
changes need to be made and it's time for big decisions and brave decisions to be made

You need to finally get to a match Juan, instead of relying on tv highlights, you would then get a bit of realism. I sit in the Carnegie stand, and the problems with JJB were clear for all, struggling to move sideways and flapping at players as he can not get his arms around, jumping out of the line leaving the gaps, a penalty liability. These are not things because he is a poor player, they are simply down to his enthusiasm and desire. He doesn't use his head, and he clearly is not fit, and as a result can't do what he thinks he can. That first half he was leaving gaps on the right and struggling to tackle all the time. Second half when he went off for a period the defence notably stepped up. How many penalties did he contribute second half?

You need to stop the biase, and open your eyes. And nobody is complaining about the tackles he does make, which are important, it's the ones not recorded that you can't see.

My son said after game, Dad I hate Cas but I love the way Powell plays the game that's how it should be. Said he hated the way Leeds play now, it's boring.

Like you he was spot on. Cas don't have a better squad though, they play correctly, players are capable in the position they get played. They are not just picked Because they are a favourite, but to perform in the position selected.

I'm not disagreeing. Regressed so much this year. A prop who regularly only makes five yards per carry for me is not doing the job they are picked for. Seems to enjoy a collision more than doing a job.

Cas are a well drilled team. Like someone said, they all know where they're meant to be when and the work they did on their passing in preseason has paid off. We've badly fallen off and offered nothing in attack last night. When we're crying out for someone to add a spark, a young lad with speed and no fear is left to sit on the bench. There have to be changes for next season. We have some quality youngsters but why would they want to stay and play for a guy who seems to have little faith in them

As poor a display with the ball in hand as any this season and probably most of last. Totally clueless in attack on the few occasions that we managed to hold onto the ball and the only points we scored were gifted to us. I thought the defence was pretty good and Cas were actually well contained for most of the game and were a few notches below there best. Still far too good for us.

His problem has always been his failure to develop physically. He looks exactly the same size as he did when he first came into the team. He has the skinniest legs of any prop in the game, his leg drive after contact is pathetic. Out of all the props in the squad I think he's the most dispensable, but it seems like he's the cornerstone of the pack in the coaches eyes.

I watched the full game on sky including their replays of crucial events and suggest this provided a better view than yours from behind the sticks at one end.

JJB is one of the players you regularly pick on and in this case your comment came at half time. Had you been able to see down to the other end you would have spotted JJB leading our defense with consecutive tackles and he made no handling errors all game. This is important because it was the 20 handling errors that were the main cause of our defeat.

You say he struggled to move sideways without mentioning that Sutcliffe and Briscoe lack of sideways movement cost us 12 points.

Yes JJB did give away some penalties in the second half but he got pinged for things Cas players were getting away but that was not why we lost. He never stopped trying and IMO was full of energy till the final whistle.

From your behind the sticks view you should have spotted the awful attempt by Sutcliffe to tackle Hardaker. His other play was way below standard too. But you choose the most energetic member of the team to single out.

no but he again tactically failed to stop cas doing what they have done in all previous games against us. and hall at centre???

Your usual blame the coach mantra is also duly noted. If the players drop the ball 20 times many of them early in the sets this gifts possession and then they miss 39 tackles this is nothing to do with the coaches tactics and you know it.

however tactically he was left wanting again. the most precocious young attacking talent in the league and he's unused. no wonder he's looking to leave. move a poor moon? no leave him. take off a useless Sutcliffe? no leave him.
he's incapable of Making in game decisions that aren't pre planned. Powell had him in his pocket again

What does make me sad is that international union is miles ahead of league at the moment. Last night in a bit of drizzle the handling was awful, unforced dropped balls are all too common in the game.

I think he should have started the youngster at FB and played Sutcliffe at centre however the poor handling will have done for any game plan as we just couldn't build any momentum at all. The players must take the blame for this one.

If we lose Jack Walker because McNumb fails to play him then I will be furious. He is destined to be a star so give him game time.

Time to ship out Briscoe too and get a replacement. I hope the rumours of Myler aren't true.

The coach has to accept blame too. Playing 1 man out rugby means the defence are dominating and up fast. With some better game plan to move the ball it would have held them back. All in all, professional players should be able to hold a ball (in not atrocious conditions) and a professional coach should be able to set up his team to offer more.

Walker is a better player than Handley so made sense to start him at fb and Sutty at centre. To not even address this during the game is poor management

Aside from the ridiculous amount of junior grade dropsies, i think we need to all get some proper perspective about this side, and its limitations. Our 2015 side was good but not great, and since we have lost two truly great players, replaced them with very little and other old players are 2 years more advanced.to top it off our world class FB came up with the game changing play against us and it was clear throughout we had nothing like that within us, just barge and hope.

We are still in a great position and in with a shot at both competitions but we no longer have the personel to believe we have a shot at beating the top sides in the big games if they are at the top of their game on the day.
