I was meaning as much architecturally as atmosphere, but I still think it a great pub on both fronts. I really like Veritas - as well as others in the chain I use: BarT'at, Arcadia, Coopers - but find them a bit sanitised/characterless.

| The adelphi pub is my crews first stop after a 15 20 min stroll back into town. Nice old school, good beer boozer! If you fancy staying at a nice hotel stay at mal maison.

| Have to echo what others have said, stay in town then get a taxi to the ground, you're talking a couple of quid each if there's a few of you!
I'm just drinking at my flat then getting a taxi to the ground!

| I don't rate the Scarborough much. Football shirts aren't allowed in the Brewery Tap, but rugby shirts are OK as long as you aren't too rowdy.

its really only on days when leeds united are playing that you arent allowed in with a football shirt on. me and the old man are always in before leeds rhinos games in our shirts and they dont have a problem, they just dont want football thugs in on match days

It's how they've got it set up mate. The big square bar in the middle has gone to get more benches in. Now the bar is a standard one against one of the walls, and there aren't enough serving. Mad queues!

| I dont know why everyone goes to that massive bar. yes you always have to queue up to get in there. For me i prefer the little bar in the corner near The Thai Edge. Its alfresco drinking and thats where its at. Cant he Harris'd with queueing up for the big bar. Plus the little one you get served faster

| With the city centre so compact there is a smorgasboard of hostelries to choose from for all your tastes and all within easy walking/staggering distance of the train station where the shuttle service will operate from.

The ale at the christmas market is top notch if you know what to look for. Also you cant beat a gluweine and a cheeky Jagermeister! (purely so that you can play Jager dominos afterwards). And to be honest we'll only spend an hour there then onto the Townhall Tavern and then The Hop and Midnight Bell.
Anyone coming from outside of Leeds, can I suggest the Sky Bar in the Mint Hotel. If its a nice clear day you'll be able to pick your walking route very easily from the bar

| Its not that bad actually. Its got some cracking beer on. Its only poncy because its full of legal types from park square. I love having a slurp in there. All that matters is that the copany is good and the beer is cracking

| Well I went just after the 'makeover' and the beer was dire, not been in since though so maybe it was just a one off because it has always been fine until then!
I liked the place better before the makeover but it can't have been doing very well money wise because there was only ever a handful of people there when we went in but that's what I liked about it. Guess the poncy winebar set-up was always on the cards because of where it is!

It always ad legal types before it was altered, but what made it unique was there was legal proffessionals ,medical people ,construction workers and general public punters and they all mixed in together it was'nt posh all regulars knew each other.Unfortunately as always happens when it was altered its character went too

| Cheers. Probably meet others in the Scarborough Tap.
Is it the one that's called Scarborough Hotel in the good pub guide?
Was hoping for a bit of a 'great pub/ale' crawl up towards the stadium, but most Loiners have told us to stay in the centre and then get the shuttle to the ground. That right?

| They are one and the same mate yes.
You can do a crawl if you want, there are options but unless you know exactly where you are going you may get lost.
Brewery tap, scabby taps, the hop, midnight bell, cross keys, the commercial, the brittania, the peacock. thats just off the top of my head. Im sure some of our more learned folk on here will know some better ones.
