Many penalties dubious.
Ref sees high tackle, right in front of his eyes, blood streaming down Abletts face-and ref puts it on report?????

I'll just reiterate that Steve Ganson had an excellent game with the whistle tonight by letting it flow early on by compensating for the weather/heavy conditions underfoot.
He caught Leeds fair and square in the offisde/not square department and even spotted that most rarest of Rugby League occurrences "Leeds passing the ball forward".
So well done Mr Ganson on a fine display with the whistle and our first win under you at Headingley since 2004.
It's such a shame that Sibbit wasn't nearer the ball when it struck the upright to touch down for justice ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

| Mick, serious question - Should a penalty be awarded for not standing square when the ball is passed straight from dummy half and the offending player gets nowhere near the play? Surely they are only penalised once they become involved, similarly to how you wouldn't penalise someone who hadn't retreated 10 until they were involved?

Honest answer then no they shouldn't be penalised unless as you say they become active during the play, before it has gone 10m.
I thought JJB's and Elima's tries should both have been scrubbed and no doubt would have if the Sky cameras had been in attendance.

May I suggest that if you have ever played the game you'd realise that not square markers restrict your options at rhe play the ball?

That was my thought and he sure he pinned us a couple of times for this in the 2nd half.
My first impression of both tries was the same but I'd like to see a couple more slow motion shots to be sure.
No complaints over the result, we didn't deserve to win

| The game was lost as Leeds couldn't score despite the, broadly, better possession and territory.
The Ganson thing though... a team who get frustrated by referees against a referee who goes nuts against teams who express frustration against referees. Disaster. You can find something in pretty much every play, certainly every set that you [icould[/i penalise. In the last 25 minutes of that game, once Leeds had wound him up, Ganson found those things against Leeds. All individually legitimate no doubt, but hardly a professional refereeing performance.

While this is true, I've never seen them given before as they were tonight when the ball was quickly shifted from dummy half. Whether rightly or wrongly the man is usually only penalised when they attempt to tackle the dummy half or first receiver.

| Quit moaning about the ref ffs. Gansons name shouldn't even be mentioned.
Leeds lost tonight because they are absolutely f'ing useless with the ball in hand. Tonight Leeds would of struggled to put 20+ on a Championship side.
Halls try was a result of some poor defending from Bulls - You won't get one like that against Wigan next week!
Then JJB's well that was just given to us. Good stuff from Abbo forcing the drop out but that is because of our excellent defence, didn't mean to say the Bulls player had to have a brain fart.
Bright side, all Bradfords points we're scored as a result of boot to ball if I'm correct? That might be what is keeping McD in a job right now.
But if he is gonna go its pointless sacking him at the end of the season. All the contract decisions will already be made. The new signings/replacements will be made. Hence it will be McDermotts team and not the new gaffers. Longer he stays the bigger impact and longer recovery as a result.

Yep we all are.
Anyone going to Wigan next week? Coz I certainly am NOT! Ill watch Leeds through thick and thin at home but I wont go out of my way on a Friday evening to watch McDermotts allstars struggle to punch a hole through a paper bag.

| One of you guys have me in their sig
Having lived in London and occasionally going down to watch Quins in numerous seasons i must say he is one of the worst most uninspiring coaches i have ever seen.
I predicted bad things for you and sadly (i mean that) you are in terminal decline.
Forget the 'wait till the end of the season' mob, do it now he's shiiiite.

| Wigan will slaughter us next week if we put a performance in like last night's.
I have seen very little this year that would instil optimism in defeating ANY club in the league.

| Wigan (away), Catalans (away), Hull (home), Salford (away), Castleford (home), Quins (away), Wakefield (home), Huddersfield (away), those are the remaining SL fixtures for Leeds this year.
Its entirely feasible that we could pick up as little as 6 more points this season (Salford, Quins & Wakefield), which would give us 27 points and probably either 6th or 7th place.
How bad does it have to get before McDermott and Lowes get the boot? At what point do the SS start calling for them to be sacked? I can't believe I haven't heard it already to be honest.
What chance do we have of beating Hull in the CCQF given our current form, and the likelihood of improvement under our current coaching team? If McDermott and Lowes were dogs they would have been put down by now.

| Whilst the playing squad is not as strong (or young) as it once was, it is still significantly better than what we have seen under the tutelage of McDermott & Lowes. They have ruined a season in which a decent coaching team would have made us at least competitive.
They have got to go, but I really don't see GH doing it. In fact I see him giving them next season too with another influx of average players to do it with.
Glass half empty? Probably...

Not sure I agree there - my team Salford - lost their Head Coach (McRae) & Assistant (Alker) half way through the season and we have won 3 of the last 4 and team spirit has improved ...........our new coach arrives in July and his first match is ........................................... v Leeds.
I think Lowes may be the problem imo.

| Can't see us splashing money out to pay off the 2 muppets and then on a quality coach.
GH's main focus will be to get Leeds Carnegie(who are massively in debt) promoted no matter what it takes, so we will suffer as a consequence.

| tried to sit on the fence up to now but unfortunatly fell off. Still think the squad is better than the performances. The seemingly crazy selections shows up in the play, lack of control, effort but no guile, no structure dummy runners angle runners or any kind of runner on to the ball. I think BMc face says it all has he watched the warm up no passion, clueless, time to go now
