Saturday was the first time Ian Kirke has started a game at prop for Leeds although it could be reasoned he has played the prop role from the bench on several occasions previously.
As long as Ablett, Lauitiiti and Jones-Buchanan remain fit, in form and not required to fill in other weak positions in the side, Kirke can be used as the 5th prop choice to allow some prop rotation.

When the pack are all fit, available, in form (and not needed to cover outside backs) then yes there are still some options in the forwards. One option being to convert Ian Kirke into a starting prop, something that has not been needed until this season.
A couple of injuries together or a loss of form will still stretch what's left unless at least one junior can step into the breach left by the Scruton and Ellis' departures.
Worrall may now need to step up. Not the biggest but a hard worker on his pre injured form from last season.

| Worral was a tackling machine last season, agree that that is not the be all and end all like but i really hope we can get him fit and raring to go.

| On paper we should win by 20 to 30 points, mind you i thought the same about Salford. But i feel we may struggle with the way we performing at the moment.

If I may add to that: if they are not needed to cover loose forward if Sinfield is absent or if he is required to cover the half backs, both of which have happened this season already.
With a fully fit squad of forwards we have eight players to cover seven positions.

Whats the point of that. If he doesn't play for the senior team, he should be rested.

I know what your saying but the reserve grade doesn't have the pace or intensity of a SL match so he won't be as pushed physically anyway.

A tad harsh but I too prefer Burgess. With people moaning about lack of options in the forwards is there another Kirke esq. knocking about the lower leagues?
