| Garbutts been one of the best props in superleague since he got here, no suprise he's doing great for KR, always plenty of hitups and good meters per carry, he was class last night. I like Ava but none of our props seem to take many hit ups, I dont know if its by design or because we'v got headless chickens in our spine, or if they arnt putting there hand up, but we rarly have more than one prop in double figures in hit ups. For me, both starting props should be well into double figures more often than not.

Ok put another way, name a position where leeds are stronger than KR? Best I can come up with is 13, though his discipline was a real let down last night.

| For me the game was lost through poor mental preparation and discipline in the first 20 minutes.
We sorted it out towards the end of the first half, but lapsed again in the second. HKR wanted it more than us and TS managed to get their players to channel this in a positive direction, whereas Leeds' indiscipline and panic play stopped us building any pressure.
For these reasons I don't think there's much point in blaming individuals. That said I'm worried about Newman - he hasn't shown us much in attack since Watkins left and is being exposed in defence. Sure he's going to make mistakes as a kid but in this pressure relegation battle I hope his confidence isn't permanently damaged because we have no cover for this position.

He contacted KR to say he was interested in getting back into RL, so I'm sure he did the same with Leeds.

| Sloppy and soft at the start of each half, a complete lack of discipline, poor poor kicking game, players charging in defensively to make hits instead of just staying in position.
Terrible performance. Hopefully the team has taken 2 steps forward recently and one backwards last night before moving forward again starting next week.

| You win as a team, you lose as a team. Last night they were all shocking, terrible decisions from the coach down through the team. Why don't they realise that performances like this only increase pressure on the team.
Next week hopefully Hull will rest a few for the CC semi,

Myler's last play options would have been embarrassing in the Fire v Police curtain raiser. He has to be shown the door.

| Anyway, Phil Clarke made an excellent point last night (maybe for the first time?)
He said that fans and sometimes players ride a heightened wave of emotion in these situations, if the team wins everything is rosey if the team loses everything thing is bad and were doomed, and it’s a difficult job to not have a balanced view on it.
This forum is testament to that

| Theres too many players in the team that think theyr better than they are, all season long we think theyv turned the corner only for them to serve up rubbish like last night. The attitude of this squad is apalling imo, soon as they think theyv got it cracked, there attitude drops and despite what they think of themselves, theyr nowhere near good enough to compensate. They talk and talk and talk about learning lessons but they never do. The lethargic, half d start to both halfs last night was an embarrassment.
As an anti climax, last night was right up there as one of the worst this season, massively dissapointing.

| Different coach and a new half back yet for some unknown reason we default back to drilling it into touch on the last tackle when the score was 0-0. Compare that with HKR who were looking to score on their last tackle plays and only settled for a scrum late in the game when the win was in the bag.
Poor performance not helped by the strange decision to deploy a lightweight pack, Hicks continues to have a problem with us and full credit to HKR for a deserved victory.

Myler is by far the worst half in super league possibly in whole top flight game in uk. Shocking display by him and Merrin and what the hell is Jack Walker doing trying to dance round the whole opposition but only going backwards.
Is he trying to get a slot on strictly this year?
As I said at the game 2 poor teams, one clueless coach, one knowledgible coaches with talent. Well done Tony Smith a deserved win that you mastered with Maguire. Sinny you got real problems and your showing your not up to the task!

| No progress since the dog days of McDermott's reign. The team's lazy and we're still selecting players incapable of fulfilling the most basic requirements of their positions. And while Merrin hasn't been our worst performer, there's more to captaincy than arguing the toss with the ref.

| Quote ="christopher"So why are they below leeds in the table with a vastly inferior points difference- the table doesn’t lie'"
The table can easily lie about the quality of teams. Rovers have had two props in Jewitt & Scruton retire midway through the season with injuries. Scruton having not played once and Jewitt been very poor in the two games he played. For the first half of the season we'd struggled to get props on the field sometimes Mulhern was our solitary prop, Your go forward has to come from somewhere. Funny how Mulhern can't get a game now we've players back fit.
Quinlan has also only just returned from an ACL injury and missed the 1st 19 games of the season He was injured in July last year and was still our player of the year winner. Greenwood has been missing most the season and until we brought in Parcel we've not fielded a recognised Hooker with Lee & Lunt been injured for most the season.
Do I think were a better team then Leeds. Your damn right I do. Put the two teams against each other and I wouldn't swap many.

| Started believing their own hype after Cas away.
No steel no determination & the all too familier looking lost in attack.
Tony Smith Mcguire Garbutt Parcell >> Agar Myler Lunt our props.
Walker Ava & Merrin all stood up the rest nowhere near.
We needed a proper Coaching set up we still dint have one the squad needs more quality we still dont have it.
Smith brought in 2 young forwards on loan who have made a difference we still give turds like Ferres games.
I dont think we'll go down but big changes on/off the field are still needed.
Sinfield did well to get Ava Martin Merrin & Hurrell plus Donaldson has done better than i expected but Coach wise & wasting money on Crosby Albert Ablett Jjb L.Briscoe giving Parcell to our relegation rivals have been p!$$ poor decisions.
The sooner this year is over the better.

| Parcell was let go as part of a deal to get a new overseas player to the club, and because his attitude had turned sour by the sounds. I have no problem at all with it.
We only need to finish above one other team to be safe, and that team will likely be London.
It’s OK the Leeds old boys coming over to HQ and winning bragging rights, but I don’t have a problem with us shifting any of them on. The club takes into account off-field as well as the on-field we see. Most speccies don’t have access to players’ training and medical records, and we don’t see how the players behave - it’s like any workplace, you have conflicts and issues sometimes.
The long game is about culture and teamsmanship.
Thought it was an entertaining game but individual errors and poor field and place kicking really cost us. We can and should play better than that.

You think rovers are better tha Melbourne storm though so your opinion is meaningless. Quinlan, linnett and garbutt are good and parcel is ok but the rest are average at best. Decent coach now is the difference from where you were a month ago and if you'd have hung on to the wizard you'd have been relegated

Tony Smith has got them playing like that. He said that's the way he likes his teams to play. Creative attacking with the right attitude. Get the man back to Leeds.
