I seriously think that as well as too many average players we have far too many who expect someone else to do something instead of taking responsibility for themselves. Some of the missed tackles are just awful efforts that full time pros should be embarrassed by.

Trent Merrin did use the word embarrassed in his interview.

I don't understand the flak Ferres is getting. He's been dependable this season, if unspectacular. He's never looked like the world-beater he was at Huddersfield, but he looks in the best shape of the 30 year old plus forwards in our squad.

I'd sooner get rid of Singleton - poor metres per carry week-in, week-out, and has never shown that he's been able to live up to the tag of pack leader since Peacock retired. Not sure if he's any better than Mullally - he's certainly not as good as Garbutt. Cuthbertson's also a forward who seems to have been kept on two years too long.

Comparing the go-forward from the pack, it's pretty clear where the weaknesses are:

I reiterate, Furner is NOT the right man either now, or to bring in future generations of players, alas, I don't know who is, or who are the likeliest candidates to throw their name into the hat. I'd have Noble or Wane in a heartbeat.

I’m not saying I’m convinced either way, current signs are that he’s not getting the most out of the team regardless of results, taking into account that personnel are not of the quality needed across the squad. That said, having not seen him coach I can’t have any strong opinions either way after 6 games.

Agree,six games give the guy a chance,we have too many average(at best) players.The fault lies with GH taking his eye off the ball and not replacing top class players like for like!

Powell would be my first choice by a country mile, always has been for me. Wane would make a lot of sense for where we are right now, he's the best in the buissness at getting the young lads through, he demands and instills aggression and after learning from madge, he's the best in the british game at slowing the opposition PTB down, sumthing that has been killing us.

It's the only thing I admire about Wane. Works wonders with youth players. Any senior player injured or not pulling his weight? Fine. Time to play someone who's dying for a shot.

He gets this season for me to turn the ship around and then next is where i expect us to be back at the top table. People need to accept the glory days are gone and its a big job to get us back on track.giving coaches 8-10 games and sacking them is not the answer.
