It was actually a reasonable looking team on paper - would have arguably coped with a full strength Leeds given recent results between the two - but Hull had far more to play for and it showed.

Tbf it is genuinely one of the toughest selection dilemmas from recent memory. If he goes Golding and we lack a bit on attack then they'll be calls saying he should've picked Walker and likewise if he goes Walker and he isn't strong enough defensively.

Not sure what forecast you looked at mate but BBC weather has dry with sunny intervals for rest of day and dry evening.

It reminds me of when we had Hall and Smith battling it out for the right wing position about a decade ago, and unless they can find a way to get them both in the team, then it will go the same way as that battle did for one of them. Although, it seems the club see walker as a 6 long term.

Unless Golding is not fully fit then I agree with you. Walker has the capability to be a match winner but Golding has the better defence and has also showed some good attacking skills. This match could be decided on defensive mistakes and kicking. Let us hope young Walker does well.

Goldings defence is overated. The amount of times he fails to deal with kicks that go in the in goal is poor (kicking dead or failing to bring it out). He was to blame for one of Hudds tries last week through failing to deal with the kick. Golding's tackling might be better but in every other department Walker is better.

Think I would have gone with Golding but it is a close call. BM picking the team he believes have the best chance of winning can hardly be described as terrible man management though. He has said several times telling players that they are not playing is the worst part of the job. Imagine most coaches would agree.
