The Pilgrim case was discussed across the floor of the House of Commons. The one year ban the RFU placed on Pilgrim in '93 still stood though despite the sport taking a beating with regard to the shamateur status of the code from MP's on both sides, IIRC.

I've not read all this thread so apologies if already mentioned, Kevin Squire anyone? I seem to recall he was a curly haired second row/loose forward from the late eighties? Came from Devon or someplace like that, decent player I thought, hardworking anyway which was more than can be said for some players of that time

I saw him in the Cherry Tree pub,just off Mabgate. My girlfriend said he was a ' gorgeous hunk ' so I had the humiliating experience of taking a photo of the pair of them together. He was a friendly lad though.

You could reel off a list of Leeds players from the early to mid-80s (mostly produced through the Colts side) who had a handful of appearances then disappeared.

Phil Turner, Phil Owen, Mark Campbell as well as the aforementioned McNeill, Sowden and the Mackintosh twins.
