| Quote ="Leeds_Rhydon"Love it when people say that. 'Fact is', then complete drivel based on their own personal opinion. Show me some facts that prove that Tomkins is 3 times the player McGuire is.'"
Tomkins will be a great player - IS a great player, but please stop this pathetic knocking of Danny Mags - pity Smith (Coach ?) did not have a game plan to get our forwards to offload the ball in the first half !
When supporters of clubs - other than the Rhinos - can match the Leeds club, then criticise. Otherwise the critics sound really pathetic

| Come on then let's have a bit of fun.
Pick 3 teams from your club
1) All British
2) All that have come through your academy.
3) All local born(i.e for the Leeds side all Leeds born.) but can be playing for another club
All must be eligible for Superleague 2010
Thinking caps on.
Post your sides on here please.

Out of interest are you a fan of Jeff Foxworthy?
Because if you are or if you aren't, I do believe that you might just be a Redneck.

What difference does it make where they were born? Surely it matters where they learnt to play the game?
Otherwise Harlequins could lay claim to Calderwood

| I have to say I like McGuire, and I don't understand the witch hunt against him by many (except simple dislike). However, he has been incredibly hit-and-miss for GB/England over the years, and seems to have real problems with decision-making and staying calm under pressure.
He should watch what Lockyer does for Aus nowadays - not a huge amount really except tee up the plays and back up. McGuire can do more but he needs to concentrate on the basics, because the errors he introduces when he throws panicked passes and runs his outside men out of space are punished sevrely at this level.
If Tomkins can produce the goods again, that's the job I'd ask Danny to do. Forget the fancy stuff, just concentrate on getting good clean passes away to the threequarters. He'd probably find that if he did that the opportunity for a step or dummy and run will be far more likely than if he tries to do too much on every play.

McGuire is and always has been a class player. Sometimes though if you put him under lots of pressure his decision making goes to pot. I expect him to bounce back big time if selected on saturday.

| Quote ="G1"Quite. I think he's been trying a bit too hard. His ball security is terrible. The rest of his game is great though. But, at this level, being as far behind in talent terms as we are, he cannot turn the ball over as much as he has been doing.
And if one eyed Wigan fans think its' Sinfield and McGuires fault that Tomkins couldn;t get his hands on the ball for 50 mins then you have to question whether the kid is up to it yet. Do you think Andy Gregory would've let other players monopolise the ball?
Tomkins is not yet a dominating half back. He was completely overawed in the 1st half. The only people to blame for that are Tomkins himself and Smith for perhaps selecting him when he wasn't ready.
2nd half, Tomkins was much better but he will have to develop more to his game than that predictable step.'"
So the player who "wasn't ready" still managed to get the better of the best team in the world once he got hold of the ball. Define "ready". Would that be like McGuire, Sinfield, Peacock, Hall and Smith were "ready" in the first half (or indeed the whole game in McGuire's case). Stop being a one-eyed idiot. Anyone could see Tomkins was the one who sparked us to life in the 2nd half. Maybe Smith should have played him against France instead of bringing him in cold for such a big game. As for his step, it seems to be good enough to take him past the Aussie defence and every defence in Superleague! Go figure!

as for tomkins himself, i still find it funny that so many fans (granted mainly wigan fans) seem to think he's some kind of god. lets not forget the fact that he's played half a year of super league (which its taken him till he's 21 to do) and that of his two big games to date (saints in the play offs & aus this weekend) he's been quiet, if not none existent, for large parts of the game.

It kinda gets missed that the new panto villan mcguire was scoring 30 trys a season when he was tomkins age and how ironic is it that the sinfield haters have lost their voice! Bo!!ocks. It was the likes of Crabtree, Burgess and Ellis who sparked us into life in the 2nd half. The forwards decided to turn up, thats what sparked us into life.
